Carrolls Irish Gifts’ fabulous new flagship in Dublin turns gifting and souvenirs into a playful, interactive experience, with theatrical design, storytelling and personalisation. Designed by MILLIMETRE DESIGN and with build from Johnston Shopfitters, the store recently won Best Gift Store at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2024. The giant, two floor store on College Green features themed theatrical prop style features, such as a tree created by artists in Limerick, which stretches through the floors. Iconic Guinness icons, such as a giant tortoise with a giant pint on its back decorate the space. Storytelling runs throughout, from supplier and brand stories to a Dublin exhibition space featuring iconic figures from the city’s past. There’s a stylish personalisation and heraldry department. My favourite feature is the Dublinese wall, where you can press a button to hear Dublin slang and the equivalent ‘translation’. Love it!
