You're looking for how much experience?!?! 😲 Have you ever come across job postings demanding seemingly impossible experience levels? Like asking for 5 years of experience from recent graduates or 7 years in software that's barely 2 years old? Welcome to the world of the 'Unicorn Candidate Syndrome.' 🔍 The Misleading Expectations: Many companies, overwhelmed by a flood of applications, set unrealistically high expectations. They believe this will attract the best talent. However, this approach often misses the mark. 🔑 Understanding the True Needs: These job postings reveal more than they intend. They show that employers, swamped by the saturated job market, are trying to filter down to the most qualified candidates. But there's a better way to approach this. 🚀 Turning the Tables: As a job seeker or an employer, it’s crucial to look beyond the stated requirements. Question them. What does the employer truly seek? 🤝 My Approach with How to job: When I work with companies on staffing solutions, the discussion begins with company culture, work style, and even personality traits. Talent Acquisition - Headhunter Simplifying access to top talent and opening doors for those who are underutilized.
I’ve been thinking more about those staggering statistics—247 days and 221 applications. It’s easy to see why so many job seekers get frustrated and burnt out. But what if the process could be more efficient? When it comes to finding the right role, it’s not just about having a polished resume or applying to as many jobs as possible. It’s about positioning yourself strategically, understanding how companies think, and standing out where it matters most. The biggest trap applicants fall into is simply focusing on themselves. When you review a job posting, have you asked yourself, "What is the company really looking for? What does this job description tell me about the problem they are trying to solve?" Shifting your focus to understanding the company's needs can make all the difference in how you present yourself. Ready to take control of your career path? Let’s chat and explore how we can streamline your job search and get you where you want to be faster. #CareerDevelopment #JobSearch #Recruitment #StrategicHiring #JobSeekerSuccess

Community Engagement Manager at Miro 👩💻 Recruiter in the heart 💛 Ukrainian in Tech in The Netherlands 💙 I mostly post about Life at Miro, community, and recruitment 🤓
👩💻 🤔 Looking for a job is difficult, especially if you're unsure of what you want to do next in your career. Unfortunately, it's not the recruiter's job to figure that out for you (😲 Wait, what? 😲 ). You'll need to determine this for yourself before starting your job search. ☝ ☝ Otherwise, you might face a lot of disappointments. 😣 Fortunately, many great coaches and career consultants can help you with this 🙌 Recruiters like myself have noticed a significant shift in the labor market landscape over the last 2 years. Interestingly, we're now receiving messages and connection proposals from profiles that would have been challenging to find in 2020-2021 😮 However, nowadays, recruiters are overwhelmed with messages, making it difficult for us to respond and provide assistance to everyone. I propose the next approach to address this issue 👉 👉 👉 Instead of reaching out to ask about open roles that may suit your experience, consider a more tailored approach. Take the time to craft a personalized introductory message, highlighting the specific roles you're interested in and explaining why you're reaching out to that particular recruiter. This not only helps streamline communication but also enables recruiters to better assist you in your job search. #jobsearch #careertips #careeradvice

✨"I am interested"✨ but they are not! 🚫 In today's fast paced and extremely competitive job market, getting hired is no easy feat! To get selected you need to stand out from the crowd, market yourself aggressively, and strike at the first glimpse of an opportunity. And to do it you need to be professional, concise, and direct! However, many aspirants tend to do the opposite, they will not follow the given instructions to apply, will DM when the post clearly says not to, and will comment "I am interested" on the bottom of job posts! If this could get you hired then EVERYONE would have a job right now and there would be zero unemployment. Which of course is not the case. So here are five tips to stand out from the crowd and get yourself hired instantly! 📍Carefully read the job post and follow all application guidelines to the letter. This shows attention to detail and respect for the employer's process. 📍Tailor your resume and cover letter to the specific job you’re applying for. Highlight relevant skills and experiences that match the job description. 📍Use professional platforms like LinkedIn to connect with industry professionals. Engage with their content meaningfully to build relationships over time. 📍Maintain an updated portfolio or personal website that demonstrates your work and achievements. Make it easy for employers to see your value at a glance. 📍Research the company and practice common interview questions. Be ready to discuss how your skills and experiences make you the perfect fit for the role. Implement these tips, and you'll significantly increase your chances of landing that dream job! 🌟 #jobs #career #gethired #hiring #jobpost #interview #careers

"Never in my life have I ever had this hard of a time finding a job!" I hear this a lot from jobseekers during my discovery calls. Unfortunately, times have changed. We've never seen a job market in the last 10 years quite like the one we have today. There are so many factors that make it tough to find a job including: 🚩 Increased competition and more people applying to the same jobs 🚩 Economic conditions leading to companies tightening their budgets 🚩 New technology making certain skills obsolete and jobseekers having to upskill consistently to be able to apply to certain jobs 🚩 ATS and algorithms making it harder for applications and candidates to stand out 🚩 Companies requiring jobseekers to move to a specific geographical area Never in a million years would I have ever thought we'd see a day where it would take jobseekers 6+ months for their job search. But the truth is that these nuances are making it a lot harder to land an opportunity. Here's to hoping things can get a little easier in the near future for jobseekers. ❤️ Jamie #jobseekers #jobmarket #jobsearch ________________________________________________________________________ Did you enjoy this content? Recruiting, People & Talent Professional - creating genuine connections for business growth & alignment
Job seeking can be tough! I've heard many extremely qualified candidates say they have applied to xyz amount of jobs, have interviewed at so many places, but they still haven't landed a role. It's important to remember and know that sometimes your resume and interviewing skills don't need tweaked anymore. A lot of what it comes down to is TIMING and DEMAND. When it comes to your resume, it should be easy to read and find the most relevant information for the roles you're going for, highlight your key accomplishments to make you stand out, and should be factual with no extra fluff ("hard-worker", etc. tells an employer nothing). When looking at job descriptions posted, is there anything specific certain roles are asking for? For example, not entertaining candidates without "SEO" experience. Is there anything you can upskill during this downtime to be able to add that additional skill or knowledge? Secondly, it could be the recruitment cycle the company is in (which could be based on fiscal year, or time of year). With summer just around the corner, hiring managers may be on vacation more which could create a little bit of slow down. (Hiring managers - this is where we can help, which can assist in you actually taking your vacation. 😉 ) After months of little progress, it's easy to think that you are the problem and start searching for things to "fix." This is a reminder that you are NOT the problem (unlike T. Swift). Continue building your network, making connections, applying for roles, and maintaining your faith. Your opportunity is coming; you WILL find a new role, and this waiting period will soon be a distant memory. It's all part of the process... #faithoverfear #jobsearch #creativeroles

Are you missing out on job opportunities without even realizing it? It might be because you're overlooking a crucial aspect of your job-seeking arsenal: detailing your responsibilities and skills on your resume/LinkedIn profile. Recruiters, the gatekeepers of employment opportunities, scour both resumes and LinkedIn profiles to identify the best-suited candidates. But when your LinkedIn profile or resume lacks clear descriptions of what you've done and the skills you possess, recruiters are left to guess if you're the right fit for the job. Providing details about your responsibilities and skills also helps: 🎯 Clear Communication: Your LinkedIn profile should be an extension of your resume, speaking for you when you're not there to do it yourself. By clearly outlining your past responsibilities and the skills you've honed, you're effectively communicating your qualifications to recruiters, whether they're browsing resumes or LinkedIn profiles. 🚀 Stand Out: In a digital world filled with profiles, yours needs to stand out. By providing detailed descriptions on both your resume and LinkedIn profile, you're showing recruiters that you're serious about your career and willing to put in the effort to present yourself in the best possible light, no matter where they find you. 💼 Create Opportunity: Imagine two candidates with similar backgrounds applying for the same job. One meticulously details their experiences and skills on both their resume and LinkedIn profile, while the other takes a more generic approach. Who do you think will catch the recruiter's eye? Spoiler alert: It's the one who took the time to be clear and specific on both platforms. So, before you hit send on your next job application or update your LinkedIn profile, take a moment to review both. Make sure they're not just laundry lists of past jobs, but compelling narratives of your professional journey. After all, when it comes to landing your dream job, clarity is key — both on paper and online! ✨ #JobSeekers #ResumeTips #LinkedInProfile #CareerAdvice

I totally understand the temptation to hit that LinkedIn Easy Apply button. It feels like a fast track to your next big opportunity, doesn't it? A quick click and you're one step closer to a new job. But, let's pause and think about it: → Are we really doing ourselves a favor? → Are these jobs the right fit for us? → Would we accept an offer for these jobs? You might be casting a really wide net when applying for jobs, instead of focusing on the right roles for you, at the right time. I've found that for candidates who: → Reach out to hiring managers → Tailor their CV to each job role → Optimise their LinkedIn profile → Work closely with a trusted recruiter → Apply for jobs that match their experience and skillset See 10x better results in their job search. More time spent preparing for relevant jobs you'd actually accept. Less time wondering why you applied for that job in the first place. Do you think a targeted job search is better than a general one? ___ Was this helpful? ♻️ Repost to your network. Thanks! #Recruitment #FMCG #FoodManufacturing

Looking for a #job right now and not sure how to go about it? Start by #creating your resume on LinkedIn or another platform. When writing it, take the time to understand your own experience, knowledge, and skills. You’ve accomplished a lot—make sure it’s all reflected in your resume. Begin by searching for job ads that match the #jobtitles and experience you’re looking for. Use #keywords like recruiter, sales, or more specific terms. Post your resume to those opportunities. Be your own recruitment consultant! Look through companies in the field you want to work in and start applying to their job ads—or even send a direct application to their career email address, even if they don’t have any openings listed. Try to connect with decision-makers in the companies and departments you’re interested in, and stay in touch through social media. Take a moment to reflect on your experience—are your current field and experience the only things that define your #careerpath? When considering a #jobchange, it’s important to think carefully about whether you truly want to stay in your current field or if you might be happier, less frustrated, and more motivated in a different one. In such cases, your previous experience isn’t the only asset you bring to the table. If you’re considering a shift, don’t hesitate to apply for positions in areas that genuinely interest you, even if you lack direct experience. Focus on what qualifies you for the role and emphasize your motivation to succeed in that new area. However, be intentional with your applications—don’t apply randomly. Make sure your resume and cover letter clearly communicate your strengths and enthusiasm for the role. Otherwise, you risk being overlooked without a second chance. Start today by updating your resume and exploring new opportunities! #vonconsulting #itrecruitment
