I watched an interesting YouTube video today. It was made by one of the best IC design enthusiasts Sam Zeloof. Sam spoke about chip fabrication basics and gave us a tour of how he assembled his own fab at home. This provides a low-cost way of making semi-conductor devices. He explained how easy and exciting chip fabrication could be. Some of his equipment are makeshift and not actually standard, but they do just fine, and he makes it work. Sam shows us some of the devices he has designed with this method. he made diodes, MOSFETs and some other devices in his garage, crazy right? I'm going to put the link to Sam's video below. On day 3 of my #100daysofamplifierdesign, I learnt about being a good circuit designer and how the knowledge and understanding of fabrication of chips is very necessary. I leant a lot from this youtube video https://lnkd.in/dMmkRv4Y by @sam zeloof. In his presentation he described how chips can be fabricated in an home fab, the cost and how the necessary equipement can be gotten.

Each of the domains can be divided into levels of abstraction, using concentric rings. 🚀 At the top level (outer ring), we consider the architecture of the chip; at the lower levels (inner rings), we successively refine the design into finer detailed implementation − 🚀 Creating a structural description from a behavioral one is achieved through the processes of high-level synthesis or logical synthesis. Creating a physical description from a structural one is achieved through layout synthesis.
