What happens at Start Something Good Hackathons? There is a melodic line throughout each event as we bring people together to develop fresh ideas. 1. We are working together for the common good not personal gain 2. Good ideas come from anywhere and not just from the top down 3. We all have a role to play and every voice must be heard 4. "High on challenge and low on threat" is the best environment for co-creation 5. We have a bias towards action 6. There's no money on the table but we know where we can access resources 7. We build on our collective strengths and determination 8. We keep on refining ideas and find as many good ones as we can 9. Magic happens. You never know who you are going to meet 10. The competition is the problem not the other teams And the photo is from Hack #1 in Wrexham, March 2020. The next hack will be number 57.

Igniting Tomorrow's Possibilities: Orange County Innovation Lab Naming Challenge 📣 Calling all middle and high school students in Orange County, Florida (so, this is for their parents that are on LinkedIn 😉). Unleash your creativity, think outside the box, and be part of shaping the future of innovation in Orange County! OC is requesting students to unleash their brilliance and creativity by submitting a name or phrase that is impactful and one that describes the Innovation Lab. The Innovation Lab is physically located in the heart of the Historic Pine Hills community. The name must be igniting and telling as a space for fostering and driving innovation and mentorship. The Innovation Lab is a dedicated space that fosters creative thinking, experimentation and the development of new ideas, processes, and products. It is a collaborative environment where communities from different disciplines come together to brainstorm, prototype and test innovative concepts with the goal of problem solving or driving advancements in technology. The community consists of County operations, business/strategic partners & stakeholders and community innovators. 🏆 First Place: A laptop for educational purposes.   🥈 Second Place: A tablet for educational purposes.   🥉 Third Place: Educational Experience for Two (2). Here's a short list. Three things I've done: 1. Built back-office software in Python 2. Interviewed candidates for our Board of Advisors and potential hires 3. Automated our internal bidding process with LLMs, using multiple APIs Two things I've learned: 1. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast 2. Focus on the people because solutions are for people, not technology One moment I've loved: Every team dinner in Fishtown
