We made a blunder with our broilers. We fed them too much and they got too big to sell. Doesn't seem like much of a problem right? But when pasture raised, non-gmo fed chickens sell for $5.00 per pound and up...and your chickens are 6-7 pounds...that prices you out of the competition. It's hard to find someone willing to pay $35 for a chicken. At least it is in my market. So what are we going to do? Nothing. We sold a few, but... We learned our lesson. 4-5 pounds max next time. Saves in feed also. Most of the birds will go to feed people who come to attend classes at the new Second Responder Inc. Homestead. What's the lesson here? Just start. Figure it out. Make mistakes. Keep advancing. More on what we do at the homestead at https://lnkd.in/eJW6jSXn
