The Materials Pledge has evolved and grown over the past decade thanks to the tireless work of many individuals and I have been fortunate enough to work on this effort alongside a group of passionate experts. It has been incredibly meaningful to put our commitments into action and complete our first reporting cycle! We now look forward to tracking our progress as an industry and sharing the results!
Perkins Eastman is dedicated to improving the health of the planet and people through #sustainabledesign. To that end, we’re proud to share that we have recently completed our first reporting cycle as part of our commitment to the The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Materials Pledge (https://lnkd.in/e322d9jA). We are excited to measure our progress toward better, healthier materials as part of an industry-wide push for a more #sustainable future, and to show our support for #AEC industry efforts such as the AIA Materials Pledge, mindful MATERIALS Common Materials Framework, and more. Tanya Eagle, senior associate and leader of sustainability standards at Perkins Eastman, has served as co-chair of the AIA Materials Pledge Working Group since 2023, and was instrumental in creating the Materials Pledge reporting framework that is tracking the progress of more than 280 signatories of the AIA Materials Pledge. In addition, our sustainability team at Perkins Eastman is working hard to update our firmwide Materials Vision & Action Plan, which will complement our Sustainability Resolution and State of Sustainability reports (read the 2024 SOS report here: https://lnkd.in/eq2zXcTK). Our team has several #materialhealth initiatives underway as the firm continues to work toward continuous improvement in the selection of better, healthier materials for people and planet.
