What if we told you pressing isn’t just about getting the ball back? High pressing in the offensive third is where games are won or lost. For teams that truly understand the nuances of this tactic, here’s how to elevate your approach beyond the main-stream approach: 1. Identify Press Triggers: Heavy touch, less-skilled player, or when the opposition is caught in transition are perfect opportunities to apply pressure, on the tactical and mental levels. 2. Spot the Gaps: It's not just about winning the ball back; it’s about recognizing the weaknesses and spaces in the opponent’s structure. Exploiting these spaces immediately can turn a simple turnover into a decisive scoring opportunity. 3. Leave the False Security: Tempt the opposition into a false sense of security by easing off slightly before suddenly intensifying the press. This psychological game can lead to critical turnovers when they least expect it. What does it take to train your players on pressing effectively? Time on the training field? Video sessions? Helping teams raise possession to 70%/Founder 1000Passes | Expert in Passing Angles, Football Synergy, and Opponent Manipulation | Pioneer in Possession Play
Mastering Opponent Manipulation: 1000 Passes Methodology One of the key pillars in our 1000 Passes methodology is the art of manipulating opponents through body positioning. By strategically positioning their bodies, players can guide opponents into areas that pose no threat to their team while also rendering them static and ineffective. We’ve often been criticized for the lack of aggressive pressing from opposing teams in our camps or matches where our methodology is implemented. Critics say that the opponents seem too static during our possession phases. However, what’s often misunderstood is that this is a deliberate outcome achieved by adhering to specific factors trained meticulously during our sessions. Why focus on body positioning? •Directs opponents away from danger zones •Stops opponents, making them static •Creates ideal static opponents •Enhances spatial awareness •Boosts decision-making skills By making opponents static, we turn them into ideal targets, unable to disrupt the flow of the game. This aspect of body positioning not only neutralizes the opposition but also opens up new tactical opportunities for our team. These techniques are embedded in our training to ensure our players develop the skills to control the game tempo and space, making them more effective on the pitch. The apparent lack of opposition pressure is actually a testament to our players' ability to manipulate and neutralize their adversaries. Remember, a static opponent is the best kind of opponent. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of football intelligence and tactical mastery! #Football #Coaching #1000Passes #TacticalTraining #PlayerDevelopment

“Height Limitations in Basketball: The Myth of Under 6 Feet " Basketball stands uniquely among sports by placing a premium on a genetic aspect of physicality: height. You need to surpass the 6 foot mark to play efficiently otherwise it will contend you with substantial challenges. But don't fold to pessimism because exceptions exist. Several NBA players have stood out despite being six feet or shorter, making significant impacts in games. Among them are Isaiah Thomas, Kemba Walker, Tim Hardaway, Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, and Allen Iverson. All these players excelled primarily as point guards and shooting guards, clearly defining their roles on the court. To compete at such a high level, proficiency in every aspect of the game is crucial, with game IQ standing out as paramount. It enables court mapping, decision-making, precise assists, and effective gameplay strategies. Additionally, exceptional ball handling skills facilitate agile movement and enhance offensive prowess. Developing elite shooting ability adds a significant advantage. However, defense poses a challenge, as players of such smaller frames often become primary targets for mismatches in post plays and positions. Ultimately, what truly counts are your hunger, passion, dedication, discipline, and consistency. To surpass larger opponents, your efforts must be equally substantial. Enhance your athletic abilities through rigorous plyometric exercises, maintain a balanced diet, and practice diligently. These steps will prepare you to compete effectively against bigger players and as a fun fact, I too stand under six feet tall. 😂

In basketball, each team is given a total of 6 timeouts during the course of a game. These timeouts can be utilized strategically by the coach to regroup, revise game plans, or simply give players a breather. ⏱️ Teams are typically granted 2 full timeouts and 4 20-second timeouts per game. Full timeouts allow for more thorough discussions and adjustments, while the 20-second timeouts are shorter breaks for quick instructions. ✨ Coaches often use timeouts to rally their team, provide feedback, or make crucial decisions in close games. Players can also benefit from timeouts by resting, hydrating, and refocusing on the game. 🏀 Understanding when to call a timeout can be a critical aspect of a team's success on the court. It can disrupt the opposing team's momentum, address mistakes, or give players a chance to recharge. Next time you're watching a basketball game, pay attention to how timeouts are used strategically by coaches to influence the flow of the game! #Basketball101 #TimeoutsInBasketball #StrategicDecisions 🏀🕒

Steph Curry and the #1 shooting mistake Quick reminder that the $50 discount on Coach Huber’s Shooting & Scoring System ends tomorrow. https://lnkd.in/eBuXVvjX Now, onto a story that shows why a program like this can be so important… In his sophomore year of high school, Steph Curry took an entire summer off from playing competitive games. Now why would a player take an entire summer off of the competitive circuit during the most important part of his recruiting process? The answer for Steph: He needed to focus on changing his shot–NOT competing in games! "I really couldn't shoot outside the paint for like the first three weeks," Curry said. "All summer when I was at camps people were like, "Who are you, why are you playing basketball?" I was really that bad for a month and a half [before] I finally figured it out.” It was a big decision but one that obviously paid off HUGE in the long run. And that brings me to the #1 mistake most players make with shooting: They’re impatient! Quite simply, players and sometimes even coaches want to rush the process. But the truth is, developing into an elite shooter (especially if you’ve been struggling) takes time. Frankly, most players aren’t willing to put in the time and effort required… Which is why most of them never even come close to reaching their potential. But if you do recognize that shooting improvement is a process that can take a few months, the sky’s the limit for how far you can go. Because EVERY team is looking for a great shooter. And if you have that skill, you’ll always have a place on the court. Simply taking more shots won’t work because you won’t change your habits. That’s why we’re sharing this $50 discount on the Breakthrough Shooting & Scoring System with Coach Jim Huber. https://lnkd.in/eBuXVvjX With this program, you’ll have a step-by-step “cheat code” to develop: -Consistent fluid accurate shot - off the catch and off the dribble -Deep range without losing form -Lightning quick release to get higher quality looks -More respect from teammates, coaches and opponents -Ability to create space and get (and make) clean looks with ease -Unshakeable confidence and scoring ability against tough defenders

My team won a league championship! What most people don’t know. I hyperextended my knee 3 months ago and for the first two months of the season, I came off the bench for the first time (which felt weird) and just tried to work myself into the offense for the post season run. For the championship game, I am proud that I lead both teams in rebounding, because I’m not the tallest or the most athletic by far… I just have an unrelenting desire to win. Did I do it all myself? Wow, absolutely not. I played with some incredible players that included a former all-star NFL player, and players that played 4 years of college ball, etc. It was an incredible experience being able to play with such high caliber teammates. It was also great to be apart of a team who has the same mindset as I do. And that mindset is: WIN, no matter how, but always with high IQ tactics. Looking forward to the next season and more challenges to face and conquer. Lastly, I approach protecting your tech with the same desire to WIN, using high IQ tactics to try and build the most valuable patent portfolio possible for your business. #protectyourtech #basketball #championship #patents #teamwork

Primers at the start of the session, 4v2 decision making... 🏉 Players have to make a pass before the cones/poles and then play through the line against a 4v2. Make sure to play off both hands and then look to develop the exercise. The easy progression here is to mix up what happens before the line of cones/poles. In this case; receive the ball facing the other way and follow your pass before the line. This progression is there to mix the start positions and randomise the starting points and positions players find themselves in. 🕹 It has to have a feel of random like the game. Our key coaching points are... 1. Reload to be an option after you have passed the ball. 2. Support the ball or support the space? - follow our pass to support the ball, reload to support the space. #Coaching #Primers #Catch&Pass
