Reflecting on an Incredible Panel Discussion - I had the honor of being a panelist in a thought-provoking Women in Tech Leader Panel, with about 200 employees participating globally and I'm filled with inspiration from the insightful discussions, shared experiences and even the questions from the audience! Throughout the event, we delved into: Overcoming Challenges: We shared personal stories of resilience on the face of setbacks and the importance of authenticity in finding fulfillment; highlighting the importance of navigating unconscious bias, assumptions and stereotypes in the tech industry. Allyship in Action: It was heartening to witness the active role men played as allies in promoting diversity and fostering inclusive environments. Their genuine support and commitment were truly commendable. Empowerment & Advocacy: We discussed valuable strategies for women to thrive in their tech careers, emphasizing the role of empowerment, self-advocacy, and mentorship. We also talked about evolving technology creating opportunities for career growth and the importance of embracing new opportunities. I'm grateful to Optum, UnitedHealth Group for the opportunity to connect with such inspiring and powerful leaders and for the enriching conversations last week. As I reconnect with the routine after an electrifying experience at the Women in Tech Summit this weekend, I find myself filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It was an opportunity to be a speaker and a profound honor to engage with such a passionate and intelligent audience. I was genuinely blown away by the impact of Third Stage Consulting Group Stage on the marketplace. Witnessing first-hand the strides we are making towards inclusivity, transparency, integrity, and diversity in tech was inspirational. I never expected people to know us, but hearing how our content has positively impacted our audience brings me deep joy. However, with only 29% of women holding leadership positions in the tech sector, we are reminded of the journey ahead. In my career, I've been fortunate enough to receive some of the best advice from conferences just like this one—gems of wisdom that have guided me in navigating the complex landscape as a female leader in technology. The insights shared, the stories told, and the connections made have been invaluable. This is why my core mission—to bring more women into this space—resonates more deeply than ever. As I mentioned in my talk, 'pay it forward' is not just a phrase; it's a call to action. The road to change might be long, and the changes we seek won't happen overnight, but I firmly believe that our collective efforts can create a significant impact. Let's continue to support, uplift, and inspire one another. Together, we can break barriers and redefine the future of technology. The talk by .Ripi Singh, Digital Transformation Catalyst on Digital Transformation and Gender: Experience, Perspectives, and Prospective Addressing how Industry 4.0 and digital transformation is heralding CHANGE, Ripi shared anecdotal evidence of how women have made significant contributions to the growth of several industries... In his own words, "As we build momentum towards adopting industry 4.0 in our professional lives, we face multiple challenges such as technology standardization, talent and skills shortfall, massive transformation, bias, and prejudice. Most of them are better addressed with proper mix of gender in responsible teams. Women in STEM are a source of talent that can be harnessed as digitalization becomes a major part. Research shows that unique traits like listening and empathy serve women well during change leadership. While working the innovation value chain, emotional intelligence makes women better suited to capture marketplace insight and ease friction in technology adoption, a balance of gender in a team makes for more productive ideation sessions for effective problem-solving, and objective execution." The talk was extra notable as this was a person who was taking on the stage in Faculty Hall, IISc as an expert after being a student a while ago in the same hallowed Institution... The Faculty Hall holds a special place in the hearts of all IIScians for its rich history. The Hall being the place that has hosted many a talk by erudite scholars including Nobel Prize winners, it is a revered dais. Ripi's talk created a flutter in every IIScian heart that one day, they too would earn an opportunity to speak from a stage that inspired them so... Here's to more memories being created... 🚀 Empowering Women in Tech 🚀 Last week was truly inspiring as I had the privilege of speaking at two incredible events: a women's hackathon with 100 brilliant girl students held at G. Narayanamma Institute Of Technology And Science and an AI-themed gathering attended by 80 amazing women hosted jointly by the Society of Women Engineers in India and MathWorks. The energy and enthusiasm in both rooms were palpable, and I'm even more convinced that the future of tech is in incredibly capable hands! I'm sharing excerpts from both speaking opportunities. 🌐 Cultivating a Growth Mindset: A key takeaway that I shared with these aspiring tech leaders is the importance of cultivating a growth mindset. In a rapidly evolving field like #ArtificialIntelligence, the ability to adapt and embrace continuous learning is paramount. Let's challenge ourselves to see obstacles as opportunities for growth and innovation. 🌱 ❓ Perpetual Curiosity: I urged these talented individuals to never stop asking questions. In a world full of information, curiosity is our compass. Keep questioning, challenge the status quo, and never settle for "because that's how it's always been done." The best solutions often arise from the questions we dare to ask. 🧠💡 💪 Resilience and Conviction: Being resilient is crucial on the journey to success. Not everyone will understand or support your vision, and circumstances may not always be in your favor. Yet, persist with conviction, stay true to your goals, and let your passion fuel your perseverance.
