An engineer, for example, can work in the public or private sectors, and support a variety of systems to include electronics, electromechanical, biomedical equipment and many other complex technologies. Instead of working from a central location, repairs and installs are performed on-site at the customer’s place of business. The job description is fairly consistent throughout the industry, however, it differs slightly based on sub-specialization. Field service engineers work in a variety of technological fields, designing, installing, and repairing equipment. They provide near full spectrum technical services and support of end use customer technology operations. They can work in both the public and private sectors, as well as within manufacturing facilities. They are often required to train customers on how to use specific types of hardware. Field service engineers work with customers to solve their problems. They install new hardware, software, or systems while monitoring existing problems and, at times, collaborating with other professionals. They are also perform tasks associated with managing and tracking of newly acquired systems and equipment. Engineers respond to calls and complete technical services tasks such as system installation and commissioning, calibration tasks, scheduled and corrective maintenance, and other duties as assigned. They also instruct customers how to operate equipment, and perform operator level troubleshooting. As you can see, working with people is a key aspect of a field service engineer’s job. In addition to having strong people and mechanical abilities, engineers develop a broad understanding of computer software and technology. In most cases, the Field service engineers must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline

I spend every other week on the road, working hand-in-hand with Rep partners to grow business by better serving our customers. 🫱🫲 We take our commitment to our Rep partners very seriously. Here’s just a few of the ways we help…. 1️⃣ We make calls together on engineers, contractors, and owners to educate them on #dehumidification strategies and how solid desiccants do a better job handling more stringent and critical environments. 2️⃣ I’ll speak (sometimes as a keynote) at their industry events, including association chapter meetings, expos or symposiums. 3️⃣ We’ll make job site visits together, sometimes with installing contractors or design engineers. 4️⃣ We’ll run moisture load analysis, and prepare pricing proposals along with preliminary submittals on all projects, sometimes turning them around in a couple of hours, but usually well within a 24 hour timeframe (priceless service). 5️⃣ I’m constantly doing in-house or web based training for my Reps, their clients, and their own sales and in-house engineering staff.
