As a Software QA Engineer, I’ve come to realize that effective communication is not just a valuable skill, but the key to unlocking doors in our profession and beyond. The ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, non-technical language is crucial for bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Being the liaison between the product and development teams, I see firsthand how crucial it is to convey ideas effectively. This role demands more than just technical expertise; it requires the finesse to articulate complex issues in a way that everyone can understand and act upon. I firmly believe that the best products are built through close communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams. This synergy helps resolve arising issues within the team and facilitates discussions on contentious points, ultimately leading to superior outcomes. How do you ensure effective communication within your team to tackle challenges and disputes? By fostering an environment of open dialogue and mutual understanding, we can ensure that everyone is aligned and working towards the same goal. This is how we create exceptional products that meet the needs of our users and exceed expectations. #SoftwareQA #EffectiveCommunication #CrossFunctionalTeams #Collaboration

Quality assurance (QA) is essential from the start and shouldn't be delayed until after a product gains a large customer base. Early QA efforts help catch bugs, foster a culture of quality, improve user experiences, and prevent long-term problems as the product scales. Initially, developers might perform QA tasks, but creating a dedicated QA team early on is crucial. This early investment in QA sets a strong quality foundation, ensuring the product's success before it reaches a significant number of users. #Software QA #Automation #Bugs
QA should not be an afterthought. You can build the best product in the world. But if it’s full of bugs and poorly designed user flows, the usage and adoption will be low. We idolize build, build, build all day. But let’s start reciting test, test, test! Our engineering team is a 3:1 ratio, so for every 3 engineers, we have a dedicated QA tester. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start and we literally document and resolve 200+ bugs a month. What’s your thoughts on when to hire QA? Do you wait until you have a ton of customers or hire from the start? #tech #product #vc
