Public cloud, #privatecloud, edge cloud—it doesn’t matter, you still want to ensure you set up your tools and processes in a homogenous way. No matter where the #infrastructure is being accessed, the tools used to interact with the various pieces of infrastructure must be similar to the other regions. A great example is using Elastic Search for your #auditlogs. In this excellent tutorial, AJ goes soup to nuts on this integration. https://hubs.li/Q02FDpT00

Whether you are on-prem or in the #cloud, you want to ensure you set up your tools and processes in a homogenous way. No matter where the infrastructure is being accessed, you want to ensure the tools used to interact with the various pieces of infrastructure are similar to the other regions. With that in mind, having insight into your #storageinfrastructure is paramount when it comes to deploying your own MinIO #objectstorage infrastructure. When any unexpected activity is happening in your storage infrastructure you would want to surface those logs quickly and succinctly. AJ’s tutorial shows how you can surface MinIO audit logs in Elastic Search so they can be searchable. https://hubs.li/Q02yGZfj0

Cloud Storage is one of those basic, "boring" products where not much is going on on the surface, one useful feature was released in the preview last week and that is the concept of "managed folders" and IAM permissions related to those folders. Cloud Storage has a flat namespace, everything is files, i.e. folders are virtually created for UI since for us humans folders give some common structure 😀 . With the new Managed folders concept, you can more straightforwardly control access in folders within a bucket, for example for data tables. Since it's still in preview, managed folders can be created with a special gcloud command: gcloud alpha storage managed-folders create gs://mybucket/my-managed-folder More info here https://lnkd.in/dk9i3Myq Don't forget to subscribe to gcpweekly.com, a newsletter where you can get information about new GCP features such as the one mentioned. #googlecloud
