Did you know that church attendance has dropped by 20% over the past four years? Despite this, people are more open than ever to spiritual conversations and matters. For your church, this means focusing less on getting people to come to your services or small groups and more on going and meeting them where they are. Adapting to this shift is crucial for navigating the challenges of today's post-Covid, digital landscape. The value of putting purpose into context! Thanks John Featherby, Joel Bravette and Micael Johnstone for the latest Better Beings podcast - really important reflections for any purpose-oriented leader. So valuable to put current conversations around purpose and purposeful business into greater context and draw deeper insights from there. 👏
Hot off the press: we present to you our conversation with John Featherby! 🥳 We explored some profound shifts in today's world, including: 🔹 The end of hyper-secular materialism and the rise of ethical consumerism. 🔹 The growing significance of spiritual capital: purpose, virtue, value, and meaning in our lives. 🔹 How people's lives now extend beyond just work and home, creating new dimensions of existence. We discussed that it's unrealistic to expect companies to fulfil all layers of purpose in one's life. Historically, the changes we're experiencing aren't normal. The West has made a monumental leap in the last 20 years, and it's easy to forget just how far we've come. It truly feels like we're at the forefront of change. ✨ Listen to the full episode and leave us a review if you like it! 👇 🍏 Apple: https://lnkd.in/e_KrF_Hq 🌴 Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eK9GMhQR 💛 Amazon Music: https://lnkd.in/esYSnztU

Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people. (Socrates) Ruge Mutahaba, a Tanzanian media mogul and co-founder of Clouds Media Group, exemplified the Grodea that, “Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people.” Ruge’s innovative thinking revolutionized the Tanzanian media landscape by focusing on creative content and youth empowerment. Instead of merely discussing popular events or gossiping about people, he envisioned and implemented platforms like Clouds FM and the Fiesta Music Festival, which became pivotal in promoting local artists and addressing social issues. His dedication to discussing and realizing transformative ideas left a lasting impact on the media industry and inspired countless young Tanzanians to pursue their dreams and contribute positively to society. Idea: As soon as you see a product or service that attracts you, do you think about the idea behind its creation or discuss the person who made it? Action: Develop and nurture the habit of thinking about the ideas behind products. By doing so, you will be able to create your own better ideas. "With the rapid evolution of the internet, it can be increasingly difficult for creators to find their audience and build community. What has become the 'traditional' form of engagement—liking and following your favorite authors, musicians, artists, etc.—doesn't always result in a sustainable lifestyle for creators. Co-founder and CEO of Patreon, Jack Conte, joined the 2024 SXSW Conference as a keynote speaker this March to discuss the current state of algorithmic social platforms, the progression of the internet, his personal transition from musician to tech company founder, and more."

ATTENTION ALL THOSE IN RADIO!! OFFICIAL NEW SONG RELEASE: Just Four Simple Words By The Maverick Band. File links and song info below: About the song: "Just Four Simple Words" is a song that reminds us of what Louis Armstrong sang in his song 'What A Wonderful World'. Would those words be true today? Our world is very special and precious but we are not taking care of it. How much devastation are we causing to our planet? The evidence is all around us. If we don't do something about it now, then the consequences will be catastrophic. The likes of the United Nations pontificate but do nothing. The clock is ticking. Those four simple words "What a wonderful world" will be meaningless - a thing of the past. Action speak louder than words. We need to come together now and make big changes to reverse the situation or we will lose our green planet, our blue planet for ever. We hope this song resonates with everyone but especially world leaders and helps, in some small way, to make them take the necessary action that is required to secure and maintain our wonderful world. Here are the various file links: Dropbox with MP3 and WAV files: https://lnkd.in/ekG5MteE Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e657MHrd SoundCloud: https://lnkd.in/e7EwigKx Hope you and your listeners enjoy it!

Brand and marketing isn't about pitching ideas and selling solutions; it's about collaborating on outcomes.
Day 2 Relevance: The glue that binds you to your consumer. Relevance puts you in the consumer's mind and turns your solution to their problem into value. Relevance happens by meeting your consumer along their journey. Relevance is about knowing your customers, understanding the trends, and connecting to them through what matters to them across the journey. Relevance is about meeting them on their journey and speaking to people from their perspective. From what matters to them. It doesn't matter how clever or innovative your ideas are if they don't speak to real people's problems and needs. Relevance is about understanding your customers on a deep level, empathizing with their pain points, and anticipating their future needs. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: When Beyoncé dropped her "Lemonade" album in 2016, it wasn't just a collection of songs; it had culturally curated relevance. This album spoke directly to the experiences and struggles of women, pulling from their own lives. Tackling themes like love, infidelity, and empowerment with honesty and vulnerability It tapped into the zeitgeist and sparked conversations beyond music, resonating deeply with listeners who saw their own stories reflected in the music. By addressing topics threading through most of her audience from a place of authenticity, she became hyper-relevant and a voice for her generation.

Remember when I said to let the social media marketers leaning into Tortured Poets Department have fun? Sprout Social, Inc.'s listening data from release weekend shows why. Pop culture moments can absolutely be (and often are) juggernauts for brands in any industry. The trick is in 1) knowing your audience and how they'll respond and 2) knowing which moments to join and which to sit out. That's the magic formula for marrying pop culture and marketing moments.
Taylor Swift fans: How would you rank TTPD to other albums? Us: Let’s use social Listening 👀 Taylor Swift's album drops have solidified themselves as pop culture events. So how did "The Tortured Poets Department" compare to previous releases? Was there… 📈 More buzz from her explosive popularity over recent years or… 📉 Some fatigue? We used social listening to dig into the conversation from album release date weekends for her past three albums across social to find the answers. The result? 👑 #TTPD takes the crown for the most mentioned album release with 2.5M mentions. ➡️ 1989 (Taylor’s Version): 1M mentions ➡️ Midnights: 784K mentions We also uncovered a surprise. While 1989 (Taylor’s Version) drove more buzz than Midnights, the Midnights release weekend drove much higher engagement across social. Why? The promotional strategy behind its release made all the difference with multiple music video previews and early hints about a 3AM edition, theories that fueled fan anticipation in the hours leading up to its release drove high engagement. While it’s always fun to analyze pop culture moments using Listening, this same approach can also give you insight into how well your latest campaign or product release was received in the market, or inform campaigns that turn followers into fans.

🍾 You know how you sometimes have the serendipity to stumble upon a conversation that makes your brain feel as if it's carbonated because what's being discussed is so fresh, timely, applicable, and inspiring? My final post for the Moz blog takes the best conversation I've heard anywhere in 2024 and highlights it from a tech perspective. The thing is...this isn't a chat between 2 SEOs. It's between two jazz musicians whose takes on risk aversion, platform manipulation, formula failure, micro-culture vs. macro-culture, flourishing, and more are astoundingly applicable to our own moment in tech time. My hope is that, if you read this piece, you'll still remember it months from now because it has enhanced your view of search in meaningful ways. If you learn from this, please share it with your peers! https://lnkd.in/gQyBz7dX
