An important learning from the low impact of past FTAs on India’s trade has been low engagement of MSMEs in these initiatives. Information asymmetry, low access to expertise, finance, sourcing of sustainable/ alternate materials, cost and guidance on certifications, low bandwidth for data and technology driven reporting requirements are some of the known issues that has restrained their access to FTA markets. It’s heartening to see the focus on enhancing integration of MSMEs in global gvcs now, maybe in response to the G20 New Delhi Leader’s Declaration to strengthen a rules-based, non-discriminatory and inclusive trading system which enables trade as an engine of growth for all and the Jaipur Call for improving MSMEs' access to information to address the hurdles they encounter, particularly in developing nations. Thanks to CII, Sumanta Chaudhuri , Abhijit Das and Mr Rajesh Aggarwal for a very informative session on Decoding FTAs and RTAs for MSMEs detailing the facilitative measures being taken by Govt and other stakeholders. It was a pleasure being part of the panel. The Textile sector MSMEs have a great opportunity, given some of the policy constraints are addressed. Look forward to the MSMEs capitalising on the various policy and procedural facilitations available to them and bringing up any trade barriers they face from time to time - the world is listening to them.

Very useful database- World NHRI Accreditation Database of the GANHRI (Global Alliance Of National Human Rights Institutions). It will help human rights practitioners and NHRI themselves with valuable guidance and orientation by offering an overview of recommendations during accreditation or re-accreditation processes, aiding in the implementation of these recommendations within national contexts. It also offers a transparent overview of current Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA) practices, thereby enhancing objectivity, credibility, and transparency in the accreditation process. You may find information by applying different criteria: country, region, SCA criteria, accreditation status, institution model, special mandate, size of institution, language, quasi-judicial. Data is available from 2017 and will be kept updated.
