From our intake team: "In July, we saw a 30% increase in service requests compared to the previous month. Each inquiry is carefully reviewed to determine if we can best serve their needs. We assess factors such as abuse or neglect history, jurisdiction, legal standing, and the specific area of law required. Out of these inquiries, 40% met the criteria to proceed with a full application. While we can’t assist every family directly, it’s reassuring to know that even when we’re not the right fit, we can connect them with other valuable community resources, ensuring no one is left without support." -Gabby Cena, MJM Intake Specialist #mjm #methodistjusticeministry #nonprofitlawyers #probonolawyers #philanthropy #hope #protect #support #admin #july #fortworth #officestats

Honestly, can we trust the numbers? 🧮 In this video, we’re exploring point-in-time (PIT) counts - an attempt to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night over the entire state of California. We’re examining data the counts have provided over the years, looking at how the PIT counts work and why they might not be as optimised and accurate as they could be (yet!). The script was largely based on our blog post “New Counts of Homelessness and More YIMBY vs NIMBY” by Rohan Montgomery.
