"Is it possible to store potatoes for more than 5 months without compromising their quality?" This was one of the questions from farmers as they were given a tour of the Hanse Agrostore Africa potato storage Facility. TRAIDE Rwanda, recently organised an open day for Hanse Agrostore Africa, to showcase the potato storage facility constructed for Hollanda FairFoods in Musanze. The event aimed to introduce advanced storage of the facility and its technology to key stakeholders in the potato sector, including farmers, companies, and other organizations involved value chain. This facility is modeled as a solution to address post-harvest challenges and help farmers regulate the potato supply to the market while maintaining optimum quality and freshness. During this interactive event, farmers engaged in discussions with Hanse Agrostore Africa about the features of the facility and how it could serve as a viable solution in their business practices. He lives in a lovely flemish city called Gand (french) or Gent (flemish). He was the owner of Toledo International together with our dear friend Clayton Toledo. Their firm is today an important part of JBS in Europe! Bob just posted an article which I will share some ideas taking in consideration that I am also part of the Agribusinness World since my childhood. My grandfather was a passionate farmer. My father got the spoon from his father. I grew up between dairy cattle, meat cattle and various branches of farming like cottom and peanuts fields. My father looked at all professions in our society with a modern vision and knew that everyone is important and that everyone respects the farmer in his own way. As a farmer, he certainly did not feel more important than other jobs in society. As an agronomic enginer he always mentioned that everyone contributes to the well-being of our society with their function. From garbage collector to nurse, from engineer to the President. According to my father, the modern discussion of nature and agriculture should not be there, because these two can live together perfectly in harmony without having to deviate from each other. He use to underline that agriculture needs nature and nature needs agriculture. Like my grandfather and my father, I keep asking respect for agriculture, since not everyone is aware of all too well how hard the farmers work. That's why I am writing this short article to create awareness for the importance of young farmers, for their future. For our future! To give the young farmers perspective, because they are the ones who will provide our food in the future! Please, do not forget that from from your aperitif to your dessert everything comes from the farmer. A warm welcome to Rodagria in the BEROCC community! 🌟 Rodagria is a young cooperative specializing in fruits, located in the village of Ogoru in Călărași County. Established by individuals coming from entirely different fields than agriculture, but with a strong attraction to nature, Rodagria is dedicated to cultivating cherries, strawberries, and berries. Although the Rodagria Cooperative officially came into existence in 2017, plans for this business had been in place since 2012. The founders, none of whom had a background in agriculture, claim that they were led into this entrepreneurial area by circumstance, inheriting land in the village of Ogoru, Dor Mărunt commune in Călărași County, as the first step towards what Rodagria represents today. The partners set out to practice agriculture responsibly, with the aim of bringing it to the attention of the end consumer. Rodagria Cooperative has the mission of promoting and ensuring the sale of Romanian fresh fruit production (strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries) and processed products derived from them. Thus, the cooperative's activities focus on three main directions: logistics - both in terms of collection, conditioning, and supplying customers with fresh products; marketing and sales - promoting products, developing a unique identity; processing - exploiting derived products from primary products, investing in post-harvest production units. 🍓🍒 #Rodagria #Cooperative #FreshFruits
