Dungeons and Lasers! With our latest animation for Archon Studio, we return to analog products which will never vanish from library like the "digitals" from time to time. Digital products depend on current mood of vendor or complicated legal stuff. Packaged - not so much! We don't know how it's gonna be in the future, but I bet that in the world infected by AI generated content, strategic retreat toward analog will be a thing. A thing every time customer expects really unique experience. I mean, REALLY unique. Not just a marketing mumbo jumbo "unique" ;) Of course that's just a bet. We don't know because development of LLMs, AIs and all that skynet is so fast that we will face at least few more yourse of uncannny valley before it will peak and stabilize. And, if we are lucky enough, it won't destabilize us, societies. I mean, full collapse in a very bad scenario. Anyway, we believe in analog. That's why we made almost entirely artificial #cgi trailer for a tabletop game ;)

Excited to share my first experimental musical video! I used multiple AI tools to generate lyrics, images, animation, and music, and combined them in Canva for final editing. It took over 4 hours to experiment with different prompts and outputs, but the final editing in Canva only took 15 minutes. AI animated Nirvana Nevermind cover 👶💵 Used Motion Brush and Camera Motion with Runway. A bit tricky as the animation came out flat when selecting the baby with the water together. Needed to brush select the baby and dollar note. Then select only a few patches of the water separately to get a more dynamic video. I have always wanted to try animating cameraless, and I finally get to try and experiment with it!! I used different art materials and drew/scratched on 16mm leader and 35mm film, just to see what shows, what doesn’t show, and what the overall look would be like. When I was experimenting with this, I thought I might as well use this experiment for @joeking685's Rhythm-analysis workshop as the outcome is somewhat similar. After I digitise them, the sound needs to come in, and I wanted to create the audio part completely digitally without “outside” help. Again, the whole process is new to me because I have never created sound and music completely digitally. My past experience was always to get the sound or music from online libraries, and I only had to mix them. I created my own variation of the Toho studios ident for a music video tribute to Roland’s founder Kakehashi Ikutaro. Recreating traditional optical effects in After Effects can teach you so much, from creative problem solving to coming up with new ways of working. My favourite part was figuring out how the white light rays were created. It’s essentially a track matte of wavy lines rotating over the straight ones. When creating any vintage look my golden trio of FX are chromatic aberration, film grain and subtle vertical camera (film) shake. I recently collaborated with talented storyboard artist Federico Gaggero on an animatic sequence inspired by the screenplay of the 2015 film "Little Boy." Federico created a storyboard animatic of a scene, designing its visual language. I contributed sound to the piece, fusing Federico's visual storytelling with an aural experience: I recorded voices for the character dialogue, and my vocal tracks were synced with the animatic, locking in the timing of each shot. I then sound designed the raw 'vocal cut' from beginning to end, adding dimensions and layers of environmental SFX, and mastered the whole scene in stereo. Combining the mediums of storyboarding and sound design, this project has grown beyond movie pre-vis in its usual rough form, and become an engrossing, cinematic experience in itself. What we have here is, in essence, "the scene" - you can watch/listen to this animatic and feel that you have, basically, seen the movie already. For aspiring film-makers who want a shot at realizing their vision, utilizing storyboards in combination with high quality sound design and voice acting, as demonstrated by this project, is an efficient, affordable, and fulfilling way to make 'Version 1' of your film and see it come it to life, before even touching a camera.
