We hired Chris Pontecorvo about 6-weeks ago and he's already onboarded his first client. For context, in the agency world, even getting to a meeting this quickly is impressive—let alone closing a deal. So, what made the difference? I’d love to credit our sales process, messaging, or tonality... but the truth is that’s maybe 10% of it. The other 90%? It’s the team. Our senior team members bring both expertise and humility—they don't just jump on calls and push the work over the fence, they dedicate their time to actually *doing the work*. Leadership sets the tone by leading through action, not just words. And our creative and marketing teams? They deliver results that pretty much sell themselves. Sales become easy when the work does the convincing.

😇 ✨ The Girls Are Back in Town ✨ 😇 Hayley A. and I spent the day around Mansfield and the surrounding areas yesterday, meeting old and new prospective clients, and honestly, we had so much fun. Door-to-door sales can be quite intimidating, especially when you do it alone, but it's an essential part of any sales role. Connecting with people face-to-face makes a huge difference. Despite the initial nerves about how people might react, I've found that 9 times out of 10, people are much more forthcoming when you're standing right in front of them. I must say, door-knocking with someone makes it a whole lot easier and more enjoyable. I learned a lot from watching how Hayley approaches this type of sale, and I think we made a pretty great team. As I mentioned in my last post, life is too short to worry about what others think. I'm a big believer that everything in life should be fun! So, if you're feeling anxious about door-knocking, grab a colleague and make it a fun experience. What's the worst that can happen? They say no, and you move on to the next. That's not so scary, is it? Just over a month into my journey at Samsara. What have I learned? 1: Joining one of the fastest growing tech companies in the world comes with a steep learning curve. The sales team here is high-performing, and there’s a ton to absorb. 2: When imposter syndrome hits hard, a supportive team is essential. Fortunately, everyone has been willing to help, no matter how trivial my questions seem. 3: Competition doesn’t breed hostility. There’s a strong drive to be the best, but it doesn't negatively affect the morale and camaraderie. 4: Securing a new logo, even a small one (mine was tiny 👀), can really ease the pressure you put on yourself. 5: Patience is key. My mind has been flooded with information, and I need to remind myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint. No need to know everything in the first month. The first month has been an eye-opener. Here’s to the journey ahead! Onwards and upwards!

Hear me! This is a counter cultural post. 1. We hired a new VP of Sales. 2. We hired some new sales folks (the guy Luke in the pic). 3. We hired both under new core beliefs and a new purpose statement. Both are killing it! Why? This is a complicated topic, but I’d like to think the core reason is around a new purpose and core beliefs of the company. As a Company we are counter cultural and different from what the world says. What’s different? We believe our purpose is to Glorify God by pursuing excellence in all we do. Luke (the guy in the pic) and his boss exemplify excellence. They honor authority. Are coachable, and they understand the commitment to win the right way! We live in a post covid culture that preaches work on your terms. Tell your boss what’s up. And you are the authority of your own life. I’m here to tell you that’s a short term win. Honor, being coachable, and Integrity get you where you really want to be in the long run.

Morning y’all, We are about to begin a hiring search for an Event Sales Coordinator position for our Team & it’s moments of transition or expansion we are reminded of three keys to Team Building when identifying characteristics in those we add; 1) Seek Intelligence - People follow smart people. - When we see someone intelligent do something we wouldn’t normally pick up on, we stop and wonder what do they know that we don’t & then challenge ourselves to learn more. 2) Find Divergent Thinkers - It’s hard to stand firm against popular opinion. - We feel pressure to compromise, and it’s easy at such times to lose perspective of what’s important to cling to & what isn’t. - Standing your ground when you are right about something important and being able to admit when you are wrong are both virtues… but “Being stubborn is only a virtue when you are right.” 3) Value Competitiveness above all else - We can Coach the rest. - We can Coach right & wrong, strategy & tactics, reading the room & second order thinking, but we can’t Coach a Competitive nature. - Being Competitive is nurtured over time out of an environment of commitment, sacrifice & discipline. I’m honored to serve a Team everyday that is full of individuals who possess each of these characteristics & who truly love one another. Hello Team! (This is a long post....) After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to step away from my role as Global Sales Director at AnyVan. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one I know is right for me and my young family. Over the last 20 months, I’ve had the absolute privilege of leading an incredible sales team of over 100 talented people (Dream Team). Together, we smashed targets and made amazing progress. I couldn’t be prouder of the team and our results. 👏💼 A special shoutout to my sales management team for their growth and development—you’ve been incredible to watch💪. Also a massive thank you to Tracey Gamieldien which was probably one of the best "sounding boards" a company could have! 💙 But with twin 20-month-old girls, frequent travel to London, and long hours (13-hour workdays + 4 hours commuting 😅), it’s been tough to maintain balance. I’ve realised that if I keep going at this pace, I risk burning out—and that wouldn’t be fair to my family, my team, or myself. AnyVan has been an amazing chapter, and I’m so grateful to the CEO Angus Elphinstone and COO Marc Clifton for their support, encouragement and undertsanding, they’ve even offered to give me great referrals. 🙌 To work with leaders who are so passionate about delivering excellence has been a real privilege. For now, I’m taking a leap without a job lined up. It’s scary, but I’m excited to focus on what’s next. I truly miss the B2B world—it’s where I feel I thrive, working with large clients and leading teams.
