Award-winning PR leader | Owner of international PR agency for tech | empower 7000 w.tech in 30 counties
Pre-seed/seed startup PR tips: Two years ago, I joined Techstars Sustainability Paris, and I’ve been mentoring closely with early-stage tech startups on their PR and communications. Some of the most common questions I get are: 1. Do we really need PR this early? 2. What can we start doing right now? I always say: 1. Any goal is achievable. It's all about putting in the time and effort. With the right focus and persistence, you can reach any target. 2. Everyone has a story worth telling. Whether it's a person or a company, their journey is already a newsworthy topic. It’s just about how you share it. 3. Start small, but stay consistent. Forget about setting huge goals right away. Focus on smaller, systematic wins. When you're ready for a big leap, you'll already have a strong foundation. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀? 🧏♀️ The #GrowF Program goes into the next round, and I am thrilled to join again together with Dina Mehulić to talk about *Compelling Storytelling*. 👯♀️ The program is a 5-week investment readiness program for gender-diverse ventures by Female Founders. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀? Storytelling is essential for startups to communicate their vision, connect with investors, and build a strong brand. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 💥 As a Founder, you are the Chief Storytelling Officer. You need to convince investors, employees, customers, partners, and journalists to give you the resources you need — you do that with your story, your narrative. 💥 You're the ally or helper in the story, guiding the hero (the audience). Your presence enhances the narrative, but the audience is the hero. 💥 There are four storytelling formats for fundraising: You can either bridge the founder, value, culture, or credibility gap! Communicating effectively is a skill that every founder should succeed in so I am super excited to dive into this topic with the ambitious founders of batch #13! #saas #storytelling #diversity #pitchready

Founder & CEO at Free Agency | Host of The Feedback Loop, Three Course Founders, & The Sherveen Show
Episode 032 of The Feedback Loop is out! And the startups and products in this one were wide-ranging: we got Cassiano Albuquerque talking about a marketplace for market research, Veronica Panzardi telling us we're not eating enough veggies (correct!), Hadjer Amira Elkabadj proposing a platform for internet radio and micro-communities, and Anastacia Yefimenko building a new line of zero-waste, non-toxic cleaning products. And Nika Duan of Inflect Capital joining me as our guest venture investor for the evening to give these founders unfiltered, constructive feedback to move them forward in their early stage journey. A big shout-out to Nika for her perspective and insights, and to the brave founders who got up on stage to give their minute pitch. It ain't easy! Watch or listen at the links I'll leave below. And, as always: go founders, go!

Starting a new venture is like cooking a complex dish—there's always a pinch of chaos, a dash of unexpected flavors, and occasionally, a little smoke alarm drama. 😅 But hey, that's what makes this journey so exhilarating, right? At FoodMyDay, we're not just about meal planning; we're about making your day (and ours) a whole lot brighter! We believe that humor is the secret ingredient to navigating the rollercoaster ride of a startup. Let's be honest, facing obstacles, delays, and the occasional epic fail can be tough. But with a good laugh, we turn those hiccups into hilarious anecdotes. Our team meetings? Think of them as a mix between a stand-up comedy show and a strategy session. We might be discussing the next big thing in meal planning, but we’re also cracking jokes and sharing our funniest fail stories. Because if we can make each other laugh, we can handle anything the startup world throws at us. So, if you see us at events or on stage, expect a lot of smiles and maybe even a few giggles. We promise to keep it light, fun, and most importantly, real. After all, who said building a business can't be a laugh-a-minute adventure? Join us in embracing the fun side of startups. Let’s make meal planning awesome and life a little less serious. Here’s to more laughs, more learning, and a whole lot of delicious success! 🥳🎉 And here's a photo from our previous public pitch, showcasing our progress with this year's alumni of Upcollective by DELITELABS. Enjoy the journey with us! #FoodMyDay #StartupLife #HumorInBusiness #MealPlanningMagic #LaughAndLearn

Sipply is over halfway through Techstars Future of Food Powered by Ecolab Accelerator which has been a rollercoaster ride of growth, learning and... emotions ✨ Here are my top insights for early-stage founders: 1. Mentorship is powerful 🙌 Mentor Madness is a three-week immersion where founders spend 20 minutes with 90+ world-class mentors. You will burn out if you show up pretending to have all of the answers. Be humble and ask smart questions. You will be amazed at the doors opened for you! 2. Testing is key 👨🚀 If you're not testing every day, you're going to fail. Over the past few weeks (which feels like a lifetime 😅), we've transformed our business model, expanded revenue streams, and maintained constant customer discovery. Keep tests fast and cheap, and always define success metrics ahead of time. Fail fast and embrace Le Pivot TM. 3. Resilience is non-negotiable 😎 OMG, so much 'no'! Most people will say they love the cool thing you're building, but seek out people who tell you that your business sucks. Ask why. Constructive feedback is a gift. When you stop taking negative feedback personally and instead make it actionable, your business will flourish. To the incredible Techstars staff, mentors, and founders – thanks for believing in us! Cheers to the best crew 🥂 Arthur Parens, Sarah Bain, Brett Brohl, Ross Skadsberg, Caty Tedman, Techstars #Techstars #StartupLife #Entrepreneur #Foodtech
