Reporting on race in America is complex. Reporting on caste here might be even more complicated. This session will explore how to tackle some of those stories with proper context, historical understanding, and nuance. We’ll look at how race has long been used as a system of power and how to uncover the role institutions play in who has power and who doesn’t. And we’ll talk about how to tackle the topic of caste in America -- where a system of power has been transplanted from its context and become a contentious point of debate here.
