ANDS UK Ltd., led by Senior Director- Corporate Affairs & Communications, Company Spokesperson Mr. Mohammed Agrabawi, emphasizes the crucial role of alternative nicotine products in reducing traditional smoking health hazards. These alternatives, such as e-cigarettes, heated tobacco, and nicotine pouches, offer adult smokers a pathway to less harmful nicotine intake, marking the first step toward quitting smoking. Countries like the UK and Sweden have seen remarkable success in reducing smoking rates by embracing these alternatives. The UK has halved its smoking population in the last decade, while Sweden boasts the lowest lung cancer rate in Europe, nearing zero smokers. These success stories highlight the potential impact of similar initiatives in Lebanon, where smoking rates remain alarmingly high. A Call to Action: As Lebanon faces one of the highest smoking rates globally, the introduction and promotion of these alternatives could significantly reduce health-related costs and improve public health.
