This Saturday, October 5, in Barcelona, the next edition of the Let's Define design conference will take place, and this time, I'm not just participating, but also co-organizing it (together with the guys from Kidults and Embacy).
Organizing a conference? 🤔 On the one hand, I’ve never done anything like this before, but on the other hand, I’ve spent my whole life doing new things. So when the folks asked if I wanted to bring in some speakers, I thought: ‘Why not?’ I gave it a try and absolutely enjoyed the process — so many cool and diverse people; I not only got to meet each of them, but also had some great conversations (in three different languages) and, I would say, even made friends!
In the end, we’ve gathered speakers from four continents, with experience in various industries, all united by the world of design. We have a Brazilian who has lived in California for many years and manages to work on a pretty big startup while also handling a couple of her own projects. We have a Canadian, a neuroscientist by profession, who works in communications for the NBA and the Euroleague basketball. We have designers with Colombian roots, living in Europe for a long time and working worldwide. Then Spaniards with African roots, producing impressive video content for top clothing brands and rappers with multimillion audiences. And finally, there's a Russian, who has lived in Spain for a long time and runs the famous OFFF design festival. (Check them all out in the link below 👇)
This diversity is no coincidence, as we’re about to discuss the intersection of cultures: Let’s Define Cross-Cultural Design. This topic is one I personally could talk about with great pleasure, and this time I’ll be doing it on stage. I’ll be moderating a panel discussion, raising questions about cultural clashes with pretty interesting guests: Tim Rodenbröker, Veronika Fazekas, Mahal De La Durantaye, and Mike Shishkin.
In short, come join us, it’s going to be exciting! ✨

Great job by Katherine Wehde Zimmerman moderating the discussion, and Syp Vandy Siligato putting it all together! Thanks for including me!
