Yesterday was all about housekeeping. And by housekeeping, I mean... garage-keeping. I Ended up hauling 1800 pounds of stuff out of my garage—everything from old cribs to burnt light bulbs. It was a ridiculous mountain of clutter, not to mention blocking my lawnmower and becoming the bane of my neighbor's existence! But as I was clearing out all that junk, it hit me: isn’t this just like our work lives or businesses? Stuff just stacks up, and creates an environment that isn't conducive for growth. It gets in the way, robs momentum, and sucks up your mental bandwidth. So with my buddy Chris and my boy Judah.. we tackled that mess. Suddenly, there’s room for shelves, a new parking spot for Ashley’s van, and hey—I even found some tools I didn’t know I had! It cost me a truck rental, a trip to the dump, and yes, my back’s telling me all about it today. But clearing that physical and mental clutter? Priceless. It freed up more than just space—it’s opened up the potential for efficiency and new ways to use what's been there the whole time. Hi everybody – a quick housekeeping note. As you know, I scrutinize every resource we have for our community. Each one needs to meet a robust standard of impact on a monthly basis. If it does not, or if I find someone or something that is doing what we do but better, it is with great pride that I choose to fold our resource and let that other resource shine. Such is the case today. It is no secret that I think Arin Goldsmith is fantastic, just as I find the prospect of The Legend of Zelda Switch ports intriguing. Arin has had a wonderful Social Saturday feature that she is now moving to Sundays because engagement is best on that day. We had a Positivity Sunday post that we did weekly, but frankly, Arin's weekly feature is much better, outperforming it, and I am so proud of her for creating something so elegant, efficient, and meaningful to the community. I love Arin's resource, and as many of you have seen, I relish having a bit of fun and posting a new creative comment on hers each week. Today, I asked Arin if she would be kind enough to simply add a small addendum to her weekly post, offering that in addition to getting to know each other, folks could share something positive that happened that week if they wanted, as our resource attempted to solicit. She kindly agreed, making our resource redundant. Please, tomorrow and on each Sunday, engage with Arin's amazing resource. It’s a wonderful way to meet others and to celebrate our gaming community. Meanwhile, I will reduce our resource suite from 15 to 14 and will record a new intro video for our website. Thanks, friends. It's official. I've discovered the trickiest thing to clean in the world, and it's made me proud to be Scottish. After more than 30 years of cleaning and restoring some of the grandest hotels, homes and palaces in the country, I'm better placed than most to say what people find difficult to clean and what they don't. And this is the one that nobody can do. No housekeeping team, no bog-standard cleaner you'll find on the internet, in fact, I reckon there's only three or four of us who can handle a situation like this. The situation? Spilt Irn Bru. Removing the sticky orange-ness is tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky. Trickier than rocking a rhyme that's right on time. Here's one that we did at a hotel a short while ago - the area of carpet is huge, and they were on the verge of replacing it (and equally huge expense) because nobody could remove the radioactive orange. We did - here's the before and after. If it looks like Donald Trump's face has been trodden into your carpet and you're thinking that replacement is the only option, give us a call - it's not cheap to de-Irn Bru, but it's a lot less than replacing the carpet.
