Love this article, relationships, connection, anxiety and guess how old he is? Fantastic decision to mentor rather than coach - it takes enormous amounts of energy to do both well and recognising your own capacity is the first step 😃 👏 #mentoring #connections #trustedrelationships

Why do people attend the Christian Leadership Alliance #Outcomes24? I was asked this question by my colleague, Phil Bowdle, who joined me for his first experience at CLA Outcomes. My response? Learning - the quality of content & opportunities for growth on alllll things is deep & wide. We offered a workshop, ‘Playbook for Building a Team.’ DM me if you’d like the slide deck! 😉 Relationships - familiar faces and new connections always abound. Byproduct: getting the face to face time with a portion of our Slingshot crew. If you are a part of a Kingdom-minded nonprofit, CLA is a great ecosystem to consider!

We live in times where discussions about leadership often revolve around corporate settings. However, it's crucial to recognize that leadership extends far beyond your career or those you report to. Enter the concept of the Volunteer Leader. Every one of us can assume the role of a volunteer leader in some capacity. It doesn't necessitate a formal title or official position; it requires a desire to serve and lead with purpose. Allow me to share an initiative I took up a few years ago, driven by my passion for both children and environmental issues. I asked my friends and neighbors if their kids would be interested in joining a free club I named 'Earth Warriors,' which met every Sunday. The objective was to empower these children, nurturing their emotional strength and environmental sensitivity. The results were astounding. We embarked on clean-up drives, initiated projects to raise awareness about single-use plastics in our local restaurants, organized nature walks to deepen our understanding of the environment, and encouraged gratitude and empathy at home and in our community. The dedication of these young Earth Warriors had a profound impact, inspiring adults to take action. Strangers would often approach us to applaud the kids' efforts. Yet, remember, volunteer leadership isn't about seeking recognition or rewards; it's about taking ownership of the causes that matter to you. Recognition is merely a by-product of your commitment. Whether you're mentoring a colleague, supporting a local charity, or championing a cause, your actions can be a source of leadership. Rooted in your passions, your leadership can create a ripple effect, benefiting your community and enriching your own sense of purpose. So, I encourage you to reflect on these questions: What are you most passionate about? What are your strengths? How can you be a volunteer leader in your own life? The answers may surprise you. #VolunteerLeadership #MakeADifference

Global Chief Executive Officer | Global network builder | Advertising Expert l 2023 Network of the year winner
Post 24/60 Pathways to Leadership: Honoring Guiding Stars There are moments that shape our professional journey. My journey in the world of advertising and media has been profoundly shaped by the wisdom, leadership, and mentorship of three remarkable individuals: Nick Brien Matt Seiler, and @Richard Beaven. Their influence has been a beacon, illuminating the path to leadership and success. Nick Brien: The Strategist and Global Visionary The introduction to Nick marked a turning point in my career. Nick's blend of strategic acumen and innovative thinking was pivotal in shaping the global team at IPG Media Brands. His leadership style was a fusion of intellect and intuition, driving the company towards success. Our collaboration reached a new height during our tenure as jurors at Cannes. This experience was an alignment of visions. Nick’s ability to recognize and nurture potential was evident in the way he encouraged my growth. His leadership wasn't just about directing; it was about empowering, a quality that set him apart as a leader. Nick was the one who gave me the opportunity to have a global role for the first time and always he has been like an “Angel” showing up in my life when I've needed the most. Richard Beaven: The Empathetic Leader and Growth Catalyst The encounter with Richard came at a critical juncture. The opportunity to work as the Global Managing Director of Initiative under his leadership was a decision that influenced my professional path. Richard’s leadership philosophy was centered around the well-being and growth of each individual. This approach was not just humane; it was strategic, fostering a culture where people could thrive and drive organizational success. The We.org campaign, a highlight of my time under Richard’s leadership, exemplified the power of purpose-driven advertising. His ability to align business goals with social impact was a testament to his visionary leadership. Matt Seiler: The Early Influencer and Innovator My story with Matt goes way back. He saw potential where others saw inexperience. His belief in my abilities was not just affirming but transformative. Under Matt's guidance, I learned to embrace creativity not as a mere skill but as a mindset. This shift in perspective was crucial in my role as President of IPG Mediabrands World Markets, a cluster of more than 50 reporting offices located all across the world, he decided to divide the world in clusters instead of the traditional way: by regions. The Collective Impact: Lessons in Leadership In the world of advertising, the pathway to leadership is often intricate and challenging. But with guiding stars like Matt, Nick, and Richard, the journey is not only navigable but also enriched with learning, inspiration, and success. As I continue this path, their lessons, support, and friendship remain invaluable, reminding me that the people we meet and the relationships we forge truly shape who we become.
