I'm interested in reading this research further. I like the idea of 'frequently discussed' as an important feature of goals. In the world of #SEND the first question I ask about APDR written plans is who reads them, and how frequently are they discussed - do they actually work as a living document to keep teachers, parents and children focussed on what matters and will help most? Researchers at MIT have questioned whether SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) actually work.
