£200 in books, or £100 cash. What would you take? I occasionally do some book reviewing for Bloomsbury Publishing Plc and (in the interest of transparency) this is what they've offered this time. I've just accepted the £200 in books, thinking I'll send some writing books to clients or do a LinkedIn giveaway (just incase my husband is reading this and is worried about the imminent arrival of yet more books). The best advice I was given for writing a book... Less is more. I know that sounds counter-intuitive from previous advice. But as attention spans shorten, it is hard for people to consume content. And books weren't made to steal people's attention like social media. People had to put in focus in order to retain information from books. That is why I intentionally designed my book to be short.
