The BTI Consulting Group recognized Gunderson Dettmer as one of the "best of the best" firms using generative AI, surveyed from over 300 interviews of in-house legal leaders. In Law360's coverage, the BTI report stated the use of generative AI is among the "new criteria" that top legal decision-makers rely on for high-end work. The report emphasizes the importance of law firms actively discussing their AI strategies with clients, as those not engaging in such conversations may be perceived as unprepared for the evolving legal landscape. Michael Rynowecer, BTI's president and founder, said, "The prevailing view amongst clients is that if you're talking about [AI], you probably understand it better than the firms that don't." The firm conducted more than 300 interviews with chief legal officers, general counsel and other top legal decision-makers from more than 15 industries, such as banking, healthcare, telecommunications and insurance.
