MR™ is the de facto standard for high index lens materials, which has a strong influence on the quality of ophthalmic lenses sold under lens manufacturer brands, made by Mitsui Chemicals. Made from thiourethane resin, an innovative material, MR™ realizes lens properties of clarity, safety, durability, and refractive index in a balanced way to ensure people can have their eyeglasses made thin and comfortable to wear with a clear view, even for high-power lenses. That’s why it has been eagerly adopted by eyeglass manufacturers around the world for their high index lenses and chosen by eyecare professionals since 1987. With high-impact resistance, high refractive index (R.I.), high Abbe number, and light weight, this thiourethane eyeglass material is the product of our unique polymerization technology. It is an innovative material for lenses that offer a balanced set of characteristics - thinness, light weight, break resistance, and perfect clarity - demanded by many eyeglass lens users around the world. #HighIndexMR #EyeCareProfessionals #MitsuiChemicalsEurope

𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢-𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 🩺 The secret to long, thin-walled flexible catheters lies in their three main layers: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: This layer provides smoothness, durability, and ease of processing. It's often made of PTFE, FEP, Polyimide, or polyamide. The goal is to be thin, durable, and low-friction. 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞r: This layer adds strength, control, and durability, usually made of stainless steel 304V in braid or coil form, depending on the needed flexibility or force. It acts like the skeleton of the device and ensures it remains retrievable even if damaged. 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: This is the skin that holds everything together and allows for flexible adjustments in specific sections. It’s always a polymer, typically polyamide-based or TPU, like Pebax, Nylon, or Polyurethane. Understanding each of these layers, the processes, and material options independently, is what separates the masters of the catheter craft. Dive into these fascinating technologies and enhance your expertise!
