At Kinumi, we believe fostering social connections is as crucial as promoting physical health. As forward-thinking leaders, it's essential to consider the untapped potential of social ties for older adults. Research from institutions like the Mayo Clinic and the National Institute of Aging highlights the profound impact of connection on health outcomes for older adults. Here’s what the science says: 💛Daily functioning: The University of California San Francisco found that older adults who often felt lonely had a 59% greater risk of decline in daily tasks like climbing stairs or walking. 💛Reduced depression and anxiety: Social isolation is a major risk factor for depression in older adults, while strong social bonds significantly lower stress and anxiety levels. 💛Enhanced immune system: Stanford Medicine research suggests that robust social connections can boost antibody production, enhancing the body’s ability to fight off illnesses. 💛Quality of life: Social connections have a more substantial impact on happiness than income or even physical health. Social connection is a core element of Kinumi's care. Our CareConcierges build genuine relationships with our clients while promoting belonging and community. A stellar feature from STAT's Mario Aguilar out today. Freespira CEO Joseph Perekupka shares insights on our measured growth strategy, recent investment round, and plans for the funds. Point32Health's Jason Parent and Chorus Community Health Plans's Mark Rakowski speak to their experience partnering with Freespira, and Aphelion Capital's Ned Scheetz speaks to the "slow and steady" strategy behind Freespira's growth. Accessing mental health care is challenging, and PTSD and panic disorder often go undetected and untreated. As this piece highlights, Freespira offers an opportunity to increase access to care and potentially avoid more expensive care downstream. And we're expanding the number of individuals who can benefit from Freespira by creating strong relationships with regional health plans to ensure sustainable adoption and reimbursement. I just finished an 8-week long course on how to incorporate nature and nature-based therapies in my practice. So, anyone who is interested in working outside of the office and in nature, feel free to reach out to me! There are lots of therapeutic benefits to incorporating nature in therapy, such as being in touch with one's identity, and using nature as a metaphor to help get clarity on any big questions or intentions one has. I've been wanting to find more ways to be creative in person and virtually and this program has helped me find tools to do that. And, you don't have to be in person to experience nature-based therapies. As long as you have some green space, I can work with you remotely! #naturetherapy, #therapy, #counseling, #experientialtherapies #somatictherapy

In the spirit of Valentine’s this week, I thought I would share some of the LinkedIn healthcare professionals turned #entrepreneurs , #solopreneurs and #intrapreneurs that I love😍 So many health professionals I know are looking for new ways of creating the impact they dream of and want to contribute to changing the landscape of opportunities for health professionals. Why not take inspiration from these amazing professionals to ignite a healthcare career you will love!👇 💗 Jena Quinn, PharmD, BCPPS, owner of Perfect Peds, empowers providers, parents and caregivers to safely and effectively use medication for children’s health and wellbeing. As a Holistic Nurse Innovator and advocate for Nurses in Charge, she is trailblazing solutions to revolutionise the nursing profession’s recognition and advancement! 💓 Rajinder Rai PharmD uses her decades of experience as a pharmacist and functional medicine practitioner to serve women in midlife. It’s so exciting to see her creating unique product offerings to support women in their physical, mental and spiritual health during their transformational midlife years. Read her posts whether you are in midlife or not, there is great wisdom for all women! 💞 Katrina Azer has single handedly developed an online pharmacogenomics certification program and is on a mission to empower pharmacists in Australia and across the world in this leading-edge field of healthcare. 💙 Thu Nguyen, PharmD‘s signature is “Do not underestimate this pharmacist” - she is a brilliant model for a pharmacist intrapreneur, carving a specialised role as an advocate for safe geriatric medication use and posting her powerful stories on LinkedIn. What’s the difference between these terms?🤔 Entrepreneurs hire a team of employees to work under and alongside them. Solopreneurs work independently or with the help of contract service providers. Intrapreneurs create new and innovative products or services inside their organisations. Aren’t these great niche terms!
