🌟 Reflecting on an Inspiring Annual Convention! 🌟 This summer, our team gathered for an incredible 3-day convention at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas filled with valuable insights, networking, and growth opportunities. It was a time of learning, recharging, and recommitting to our mission of making a difference in people’s lives through financial education and empowerment. 💼💡 Here are some key takeaways from this transformative experience: Vision & Leadership: We had the privilege of hearing from some of the most inspiring leaders in the industry who reminded us of the power of vision, perseverance, and leading by example. Their stories of success and resilience were not just motivating, but also a blueprint for our own journeys. Innovative Strategies: The sessions were packed with innovative ideas and tools that will help us continue to deliver value to our clients. From leveraging technology to understanding the latest trends in wealth-building, we are more equipped than ever to serve our communities effectively. No Family Left Behind: Our core mission was reinforced with passion and purpose. At the heart of everything we do is the commitment to ensure that no family is left behind when it comes to building and protecting their financial future. This message resonated strongly throughout the event and has given us renewed drive. Personal Growth: The convention wasn't just about professional development—it also focused on personal growth. Sessions on mindset, wellness, and resilience emphasized the importance of balancing business success with personal well-being. Collaboration & Networking: It was truly a collaborative event. Meeting like-minded colleagues and exchanging ideas showed the strength of our WFG family. The relationships and connections formed during this event will undoubtedly lead to even greater success for all of us. 🤝 As we move forward, we are more empowered and equipped to elevate the financial knowledge and prosperity of the families we serve. Hey world changer: When you choose to allocate your precious time to joining organizations, what level of involvement has served you well? I ask because as I look at this week's calendar, I, like the other board members of National Speakers Association - Michigan, can see a number of gatherings. Each of them is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and serve. Isn't that why we join orgs in the first place? I love that as the #NSAMichigan Director of Strategic Partnerships, I'll get to: 👉🏽Have strategy meetings for upcoming speaker showcases so our members can demonstrate their speaking ability to paying meeting planners 👉🏽Establish a committee for planning other partnerships that add value to our members... welcome to the crew, Eamonn O'Brien,! 👉🏽Attend an in-person board meeting with industry leaders 👉🏽Speak at "So You Want to Be a Speaker?" - tomorrow's in-person panel with rockstar speakers like Amelia Mimi Brown, CSP, Kevin Sidebottom, Princess Castleberry, Chanel F. DeGuzman, Ph.D. and Greg Peters. Come on, have you met these people? Wow!💥 👉🏽Enjoy conversation at a board dinner with this weekend's seminar speaker, Taylorr Payne 🎤 👉🏽Attend Taylorr's seminar: How To Create A Business That Runs Itself (yes please! You can bet I'll be taking notes). All in one week. I didn't join NSA Michigan to waste time. If anything, I'm looking to save time. That's why I jumped in - all in, cannonball style - because opportunities to grow my speaking business abound. I want to grow it, do more of it, and let go of the things that aren't working... saving time for what is. Some weeks, NSA business takes up the majority of my calendar. If I've learned anything since taking the plunge, it's that these are the weeks I am most grateful for in the end. If you want information on anything above, please comment or reach out! Or see upcoming NSA events at https://lnkd.in/d8bTT3GR. And if you've found value from choosing to get involved in an organization, please share about your experience. What has served you well? What advice do you have? We can learn from and with each other. We are so much #bettertogether. #professionalspeaker

Elevating Human Potential: Governance, Strategy, Change Management, Operational Excellence, Process Improvement, Capability and People Experience Leader
Christopher Luxons recommended reads: Jim Collins, "Good to Great" - Patrick Lencioni, "Five Dysfunctions of a Team" and Michael D. Watkins - "The First 90 Days." A big thank you to IoD for organising this event. Key takeaways from a governance perspective: 👉Directors must grasp the complexity of the organisations they govern and beable to delve into the complexity and engage with strategic rigor. 👉We need to shift from certifying boards to engaging boards and drop the box-ticking. 👉As Directors, what is the highest order question you can ask that encourages the management team and CEO to think beyond their current frame? 👉We need good onboarding to set our Boards up for sucess --- Our prime minister also talked to the immediate priorities, such as rebuilding our economy, it’s a tough time right now, people are living from pay check to pay check. We need to get inflation down to get interest rates down. Fix fiscal drag and tax relief. Attract foreign capital and inbound investment. Drive STI and R&D and commercialise it. Build a word class education system, deliver better public services and restore law and order. From a productivity standpoint and considering our mission at The Lean Hub to enhance operational efficiency and unlock sustainable success in our kiwi businessess. I found alignment with the discussion on cultivating businesses with strong culture, customer experience, and good commercial returns. It's crucial to recognise that while the government is setting up the operating system, it's up to us to develop robust businesses that yield improved outcomes. I had an energising 121 conversation about lean methodologies, continuous improvement, and the absolute importance of driving process improvement and working smarter, to get us out of the bottom quarter of OECD. We have a great country and exceptional people and potential, capable of generating wealth, prosperity, and growing beyond our current standard of living. Thanks again to the Institute of Directors in New Zealand team for an enlightening session aimed at unlocking New Zealand's potential and great to see some pink shirts under all those blue jackets!!! Shout out also to Ryan Hamilton and Tama Potaka perfect way to end the week!
