My life has taken many turns, some for the better and some for the worse. I have a varied background of education, experience, and skills. Do you love animals? Do you support our Veterans? Are you looking to donate some valuable time and effort to your local charity? Animal Rescue & Veteran Support Services Trade name Veteran Rescue is looking to add Advisory Board members. Feel free to ask questions. I have 4 published business help books available on Amazon, Kindle and websites.
From my current college assisgnment introduction. I posted this on day one: Introduce yourself
My name is Christi Hubbard. I am in Deland, Florida. I own and operate two seperate businesses. A for profit, Wildcat's Sanctuary and Ranch, pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. A 501c3 non profit, Animal Rescue and Veteran Support Services, Corp. DBA Veteran Rescue, helping veterans and animals in need mostly. I also help small children and their families that are homeless.
Being homeless myself for five years while working has given me an insight into their plight. I also help neighbors, contractors, and more. I recently rescued two small, newborn kittens from a vacant house attic. They are three weeks old, bottle fed every two hours, and teething right now.
My future goals are to purchase a horse ranch with home on it, build brick and mortar shelter for animals, cabins for the veteran clients and become one hundred percent operational. Right now, I work from my cargo trailer. I am doing much better than I was five years ago when we lost everything. I will not lie, it has been a struggle to eat, work, college and keep my health. I am six classes away from completing my Master's degree in Public Administration.
The response to this was positive and endearing. I regularly see something like this one from Christopher, "Hearing about your journey and dedication to helping animals and veterans is inspiring. Operating two businesses, a for-profit pet care service and a non-profit for veterans and animal rescue shows your commitment to significantly impacting your community. Your experiences, including overcoming homelessness, provide a unique perspective and drive to assist others in need.
Your goal of purchasing a horse ranch and building a shelter for animals and veterans is admirable and a testament to your deep-rooted compassion. Your efforts in rescuing animals, like the newborn kittens, are a poignant reminder of your empathy. Balancing work, education, and personal challenges while being so close to completing your Master’s in Public Administration is not just commendable; it's a testament to your unwavering determination. Your plan to use your education to enhance your businesses and community engagement is a beautiful way to give back."
That's a ROAR-some project! 🦁
