If you don't know much about the Fox Locks, consider this. Without the lock system, the Fox River would not be navigable--it drops 168' in elevation from Lake Winnebago to the Bay of Green Bay. The locks allow boaters to travel past the dams and elevation changes--learn more in this short video.
