Our second tip for International Networking Week is to ask questions and practice active listening. When we are networking, we are often focused on sharing about ourselves and forget to actively listen to people’s responses. Consider having a few conversation starters/questions prepared for your networking events!

Rant: It’s spring conference season, and I am on my second of three big conferences over a 4 week span. All of the companies promote the importance of not only attending the sessions, but networking with peers. That’s why I am attending. But why do ALL of them make the name of the company on badges so small?!? Very counter productive for attendees if they can’t easily find someone they would like to connect with. They could easily put the name of the company in big bold text at the bottom instead of attendee.
