Promoted or hired as a Sales Manager? Here's what to do on Day 1. I've been in this position several times. There's a lot to earning respect as a new Sales Manager. So, let's just start with the first day. ✅ Gather the team together; sales, pre-sales, support. ✅ Introduce yourself, give your background and then, most importantly, explain why you are there. Don't hold anything back. Expansion, replacement, whatever it is. ✅Let everyone know, "We are all here to succeed. And to do so, will require some changes in our processes." (Avoid talking about changes in personnel at this point.) ✅ Tell them you will be speaking with them 1:1 soon to get to know them and understand their perspective. ✅ Ask for questions. This is your first, and best, chance to show your listening skills, honesty, and empathy. All the traits you want to see in them. Finally, let everyone know, "We succeed as a team. And I am right here with you!"🌠 📍If you're an experienced Sales Manager, what would you suggest?

I’m not a salesperson by definition, even though my title—𝘒𝘦𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳—places me in the sales field. 𝗦𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗺 𝗜? My journey into sales was unexpected. With a background in law and early experience in a multimedia company’s technical department, sales wasn’t on my radar. But when I moved to Norway, someone suggested I’d make a good salesperson. I resisted at first, but by coincidence (and maybe a bit of fate), I found myself in sales—and I succeeded. For me, the key was understanding the cultural context. Selling within your own culture is 20% culture and 80% product, but when working abroad, 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗽. I realized that to succeed, I couldn’t just manage relationships—I needed to 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 them along with strategic planning, business development, and other tasks expected of a Key Account Manager. It required comparing cultures, finding common ground, and forging genuine connections. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜'𝗺 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿. This approach has inspired me to work on a new project exploring cultural connections and professional growth—The project's launch is anticipated shortly. Stay tuned!

Every day is a new challenge: • Balancing client expectations with business goals. • Turning feedback into actionable solutions. • Celebrating wins (big and small) with the people who trust you with their business. What I love most about being an Account Manager / Inside Sales Spec is the opportunity to make an impact. Whether it’s helping a client grow, introducing them to new opportunities, or simply being a trusted partner, the work is incredibly rewarding. To my fellow Account Managers: What’s your favorite part of the job?

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do" ⤵️ If you work in sales keep reading ⤵️ This week after speaking to several salespeople in the Med Tech world, one thing that stood out to me was the passion. Being in sales is tough. Long hours, rejection, high pressure, and it is without a doubt unpredictable. However, the rewards are life changing. The stories I get told from top quality Med Tech salespeople are mind boggling. Holiday homes in Florida Keys, vacations in the Maldives, weddings on the Amalfi coast, the list goes on…. The highest achieving salespeople all have one thing in common - they love what they do. When you love what you do, you’re more resilient, passionate and the energy & time you invest feels natural. Funnily enough, 4 things that are crucial for a career in sales - resilience, passion, time & energy. People in sales, who agrees? Do you have capital equipment sales experience in the med tech world? ⤵️ There are 2 more Area Sales Manager roles on my desk. No commission cap & sales reps taking home between $200,000 - $400,000..... Message me to discuss! 📩

##Sales##SalesMan##Passion##iIovesales##Haven##BestProfession##Jobs##Choice##Hardwork##SalesPerson## Being a salesperson is one of the best jobs in the world. If you do it with passion, it becomes the most enjoyable job you could have. It's like turning work into pure joy. You feel on top of the world because you love what you do. But, if you end up in a sales job because you had no other choice or because you're stressed about finding work, it can be really tough. For those people, it might feel like the worst job ever. When you love sales, it's like living in heaven. It's truly the best profession. "I love being in sales—it's the best job out there." A Learner 📚🖊️ 🧠🎯.......

Happy "National Salesperson Day"! The "Sales Profession" sometimes gets a bad rap, but I have loved my 25+ years in various sales and sales management roles! Some of the most rewarding aspects of working in sales I have experienced include: • Helping Others – Assisting customers in finding solutions to their problems and seeing their satisfaction with your product or service. • Networking and Building Relationships – The opportunity to meet new people and develop meaningful connections. • Travel – Gaining insight into customers’ businesses through site visits and understanding their needs on a deeper level. Experiencing Trade Shows worldwide. • Variety – Enjoying the flexibility of not being confined to an office, with the chance to travel and experience new environments. • Personal Satisfaction and Achievement – The sense of accomplishment from closing deals and consistently meeting and surpassing targets. Learning resilience to sell through more difficult times (Oil and Gas downturns, recessions, COVID) • Personal Growth and Transferable Skills – Strengthening abilities in communication, negotiation, persistence, resilience, problem solving, time management, financial and business acumen that are valuable in any career. Learning new businesses and products daily keeps me going! #alwaysbelearning #sales #trustedadvisor #solutionsprovider #networking #grateful #thirstforknowledge #thankyou

I shared how door to door sales helped me kickstart my career. The part I didn’t share yet was how it also helped me land my first job in software sales and have a chance to work for a great leader. After a year of knocking on doors, I applied to Four Winds Interactive to help Scott Weber with lead generation. Scott took a chance on me because he also knocked on doors, and knew that if I was willing to walk outside for leads then I’d be willing to pick up the phone for them. In my first year I’m the job, he taught me: -how to align my interests with my company’s objectives -how patience with a strategy is usually the most effective method for getting to your end goal -what a good work/life balance looks like -a framework for outbound outreach that is still effective for me Our team scheduled a record number of outbound leads that year, and it gave me the confidence and experience I needed to move into a sales role. Who’s someone in your life that impacted your career early on? Give them a shout and see how they’re doing! I bet they’ll appreciate it.
