July is #NationalMinorityMentalHealth month. This is a time to bring awareness to the unique challenges that racial and ethnic minorities in the US face when it comes to mental health. This year’s theme is Be the Source for Better Health. As professionals within the research and healthcare industry, we are the #SourceforBetterHealth when we are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices and consider how social determinants of health impact the communities we serve. When we are aware of the challenges and barriers that various patients may face, we can move forward with practices and solutions that better serve everyone. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dK-fmjkd

Since the pandemic, there has been an increased strain on mental health resources, which has negatively impacted patient access and care. However, I believe health systems that want to do their part to improve access to behavioral health services can do so by: ✅ Determining how patients define "access" ✅ Increasing funding for the development of more mental health specialists ✅ Implementing new, more flexible payment models that accommodate a wider variety of patients #BehavioralHealth #MentalHealth #Accessibility

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. The World Health Organization champions today as "an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme 'Mental health is a universal human right' to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone's mental health as a universal human right." As a company, one of our core values is Stand Up to Inequities, and we recognize the importance of today (and every day) in destigmatizing mental health treatment, especially for underserved communities. We are proud to work with clients who are developing therapies to help address unmet mental health needs. We are committed to working with policymakers and innovators to find ways to expand access to treatment for all. #WorldMentalHealthDay

During Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re thinking about how oral and mental health are often siloed and seen as separate from other types of health care. In reality, they are both inextricably linked to overall health and well-being. At NCOHC, we believe integrated care structures lead to more equitable, accessible health care. Oral and mental health are essential to whole-person health, and our bodies benefit most when our medical, mental health, and dental needs are all met through a “whole-body” approach. Not only do our medical, dental, and mental health needs overlap, but deficiencies in any of these areas can have serious impacts. https://buff.ly/47ta2PR #oralhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmonth

Evidence is critical to improve #mentalhealth, and this week’s announcement from The White House makes this clear. President Biden’s proposal would require health plan providers to gather evidence about plan performance and make improvements based on this evidence. At Holmusk, we know evidence will help all players across the mental health ecosystem, which is why we’ve curated best-in-class real-world data to enable point-of-care insights and drive quality of care. According to the National Rural Health Association, there are four key factors that inhibit people in rural communities from engaging with mental health care: Accessibility, availability, affordability, and acceptability. Woebot transcends these barriers with its ability to hold millions of conversations at once, allowing for unlimited availability and accessibility. Woebot also expands access to support without adding to clinician workloads, and eliminates the mental health stigma so often present in rural communities, making it an affordable and acceptable support tool, adjunct to traditional therapy. #HealthEquity #HealthOutcomes #RuralHealth #RuralMentalHealth #RuralCommunities #MentalHealth #DigitalHealth
