Today we wrapped up our week-long "Leadership Institute" -- bringing principals, assistant principals, school-based leadership teams and central office leaders together for community building, learning and collaboration. Leaders are preparing for welcoming staff back in the coming weeks and students in September.

Get to know MMSD's Superintendent Joe Gothard, Ed.D. A proud Madison native, he is firmly grounded in the community. An MMSD alum, Dr. Gothard grew up on Madison’s east side and attended Elvehjem Elementary School, Sennett Middle School and La Follette High School. Having dedicated more than 30 years to public education, Dr. Gothard is a long-time supporter of students, staff and families and believes that people are at the center of everything we do. Madison Metropolitan School District Wins National Communication Awards -- The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) earned multiple awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), highlighting the district’s outstanding achievements in school public relations, communication, marketing and engagement. “This recognition highlights the important role of school communications professionals to ensure accurate, transparent and engaging information is shared with our community,” said Edell Fiedler, MMSD’s senior executive director of communications. “Our team is dedicated to supporting MMSD staff, students and families through the work we do and keeping the community informed about what is happening at the district.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gi7mRTbf
