Excited to be co-hosting this webinar! Its a tough time for U.S. consumers right now. Credit card balances reached another all-time high at the end of 2024, $1.3T and household debt rose another 1.2% to $17.5T. 😳 😳 Given those trends grew throughout last year, it's hard to imagine them suddenly reversing this year. Businesses that are #lending to consumers must refine their servicing strategy to avoid their servicing & operational costs ballooning, but it can't be at the sacrifice of collecting less delinquent payments from their customers. The operational and financial impact is already showing its face for lenders as 90+ day delinquency rose to nearly 10% and 30+ day delinquency rose over 8%, which means larger number of accounts are entering delinquency and unfortunately reaching charge-off more often than in years prior. 📈 📈 These delinquency trends show there's opportunity to improve servicing operations & strategies to reduce the amount of accounts reaching charge-off. Deploying more digital communications early & often will be critical to getting more payments and optimizing your calling strategy. Making calls is still a critical component to any servicing strategy as consumers value having a person to work through a challenging time with, but there's ways to make less and get more out of the calls your making.
