When you realize that you can't stay in the military forever . . . Then transition to a Veteran's life is your next mission. How long does that take? This is not a PCS move or something you've done before. Plan on 2-3 years of part time study and thinking if you want to succeed. Would you go into combat without a plan or knowing the terrain and enemy capabilities? Of course you wouldn't. You want to succeed. Did you become a military expert after attending basic training or the basic officer course? Of course you didn't. You put years and much study into it. Military transition is not different. This book by Algrish Williams, Sr., MPA is a good starting point to understand the terrain that is called military transition. #soldierforlife

Phoenix’s East Valley Veterans and those who care about them: Since you stopped wearing the military uniform, have you struggled to find meaning and purpose? Has it been frustrating to identify YOUR gifts? "Vet Connect," the military ministry at Christ's Church of Fountain Hills, invites you to join us for the video series "Called to Serve, Utilizing our Gifts as Veterans." DATE/TIME: Feb -June 2025, First Sunday of every month, 11 am -1230 pm. Snacks will be provided. LOCATION: Lower building classroom at 15555 E. Bainbridge Ave. Fountain Hills, AZ Many Veterans feel they have gifts and strengths and know how to use them while serving in the military, but often don’t see ways to share their gifts with their family, church, and community. This 5-part study was written for Veterans, Christian and non-Christian, to help them see themselves as a gift from God with gifts to share. It's most relevant for Veterans transitioning from military life into civilian life. Former military professionals share insights and learn how to grow their gifts. This series is also for those who've never served in the armed forces, helping you better understand the military mindset, and culture, and identify YOUR gifts. To RSVP, contact info@christschurch.online or (480) 837-3121 Sorry, there’s no childcare

Let me preface this by saying this in no way involves the current company I work for! 🇺🇸💼 As a veteran and military spouse, it's disheartening to see that companies claiming to support the military community often turn out to be the biggest offenders, belittling service members instead of helping them grow. It's concerning that these companies fail to recognize the valuable skills and experiences of veterans and military spouses. Let's advocate for genuine support and respect for our community within all organizations. #SupportVeterans #MilitarySpouses #LeadershipDevelopment #RespectOurTroops #EthicalEmployers

May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Every day, American service members and their families make the selfless decision to help defend our freedoms and safety around the globe. Military life often involves huge sacrifices – whether it’s relocating far from family and friends or service members’ spouses giving up their own careers to keep their family unit together. There are countless ways to show your appreciation and give back to our veterans, active military personnel and their families. One of the simplest ways of showing appreciation is to say, “thank you.” You might also consider giving a military spouse a hand in their day-to-day lives. If you know a deployed military family, why not drop off a meal, offer to babysit or take their dog for a walk? And if you’re a business owner, giving back can be as easy as providing a military discount. These small gestures can go a long way in supporting service members and their families. As a veteran myself, I understand the importance of support and camaraderie within the military community and I encourage you to join me in showing appreciation in whatever way you can, both this month and always. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #MilitaryAppreciation #Veterans #SupportOurVeterans

Find your tribe! When we leave the military, there will be a sense of loss. We leave behind a close brotherhood that fills our lives. It's important to find your new tribe when you leave the military. You can do this in several ways: Local nonprofit organizations Local chapters of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), The American Legion and other veteran organizations Church Volunteer opportunities Professional organizations and many more Don't isolate yourself, get out and find your new tribe. #vetsos #vetsospodcast #military #militarytransition #militaryspouse #militaryspouses #veteran #veterans #veterantransition #veteranshelpingveterans #transitioningservicemember #transitioningmilitary #transitioningveteran
