Last night was our annual holiday party with our sister company Miller Proctor Nickolas, Inc. It was a night of celebration and coming together as 2Hudson. We thank all of our employee-owners who made the trip to attend and got a chance to mingle with their fellow employee-owners from Mobile Steam and MPN. We aren't all in the same room often, and it is always great to catch up and enjoy a fun evening together after hours. This being our first holiday party as a 2Hudson company, made the night even more special. Mobile Steam is looking forward to finishing 2024 off strong! #MobileSteam #MPN #2Hudson #employeeowned #holidayparty #celebration

I am beyond happy to see the Senators organization adopting an environmental strategy for performance success under the influence of great people like @MattNichol. It's a belief system I've held throughout my career and I came close when helping build the new practice facility for the Habs in 2008-2009. The business @JaimeSochaskyLivingston owned and operated with partners, P2 was a complete acknowledgment of this approach, open, clear performance spaces linked directly with therapeutic spaces and unencumbered by walls. You can't collaborate if you don't know what each other is doing. This kind of space is a step in the right direction. Language and narrative are the biggest limiters of performance and medical integration. These professionals develop under different objective lenses. The narrative of the performance professional is success through overreaching, and the narrative of the medical professional is success through protection and prevention. Neither is wrong, it's just a different viewpoint. When they are brought together under a common operating system and language, this dissonance is removed and the objectives become clear. Health, well-being, and performance can live in the same space. Well done Ottawa, a step in the right direction. #ReconditioningRevolution
A major offseason project that embodies Michael Andlauer's rally cry of striving to be best in class in all that we do. This summer the Senators underwent a massive transformation of our gym space to foster a more holistic approach to training and recovery and rehab, creating a space that our training staff and medical team can work in unison. Hear from Vice-President, Business Operations Chris Phillips and Director, Player Health and Performance on all of the work that went into this project and how it creates a collaborative space for our players to benefit from and take pride in.

Bus, plane, train, car, taxi, elevator, walking, boat, ferry, barge, hoist, line dancing...you name it, I probably took it as mode of transport as I worked on the Queensland Home Care Workforce Support Program. If I could swim, I would have, to connect the strands of all the great work already happening to create better outcomes for older people through the workforce lens. Maybe not with the crocs though. Because that's the thing with these types of Programs, its not always about re-creating the wheel. Sometimes its about uncovering nuggets of gold that are already there and listening, learning, understanding and then finding the best way to wrap funding and supports around to enable the best chance of success. Making a connection to strengthen that spark of innovation. Then connecting that wisdom right back to the top where it needs to be heard to hopefully help guide the ship in the right direction. And I tell you what, can the line dancers of of the north tear up a dance floor! We are down to our last few spots for our forums next week, don't miss this opportunity to hear from Emeritus Professor Julie Byles AO B Med, PhD who led the program’s independent evaluation. Regos close tomorrow. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gps-7yre

As we approached Orkney recently, the cliffs of Hoy were magnificently lit by the sun, and the almost-detached stack of Bre Brough was clearly seen. Hard as it is to believe, the name 'brough' suggests that the Vikings or their immediate successors recognised that this incomparable location had been used at some stage previously- possibly some time in the Iron Age- as a stronghold; if it were not some 325 metres above the sea, we would probably simply call it a 'promontory fort'. Clearly, the cliffs which surround most of the one-hectare site, defend it spectacularly well. On the narrow, landward side, a stone wall and turf bank block the only access to the flat summit. How such a dramatic and isolated location could really have been used, is very difficult to work out; peaty turf now hides any structures that might have been constructed in this vertiginous location. But it certainly provides food for thought, and adds interest to the great cliffs of Hoy.

15 Years Ago Today....Penn Station Access On Sunday, November 22, 2009, NJTR 4916 (ALP-46) led MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 3141 from New Haven, Connecticut to New York Penn Station. The train is seen stopping at Bridgeport, Connecticut. During the 2009-2010 National Football League season, Metro-North and New Jersey Transit teamed up to coordinate 3 round trips for 1:00 PM games for both the Giants and Jets with an ALP-46 and 9-10 Multi-Level cars. Passengers would await a crew change at NYP, then change trains in Secaucus for the Meadowlands Stadium. In the following years, it would be changed to single level equipment, and ultimately with a single round trip before being discontinued. Though a number of factors led to the lack of success of this particular service, leading the list is that it was not operated for other game times or days than 1:00 PM on Sundays, meaning that those who had season parking passes had to keep them to attend the rest of the games. But for a few football seasons on select Sundays, there was a Penn Station Access service, which is projected to return 7 days a week for the general commuting public in 2027.
