eCall in Europe and its equivalents around the world are proving their value in summonning emergency services to vehicle collisions where airbags have been triggered. Forthcoming Next Generation European eCall and the vision of ISO TS 4654 Advanced Automatic Collision Notification offer improved capabilities in triaging response requirements using injury prediction, and extending beyond passenger cars fitted with airbags. My focus at BAPCO will be on how these developments will benefit Public Safety Answering Points, and how they could integrate with operations.
