Sounds like an interesting forum. I am engaged in designing an affordable housing kit-home based on structural steel portal frames with panelized floors and exterior cladding. Was not smart enough to use "Prefab Modular" as a basis for design: stick-built at two sites with too many sticks for me to make it work at $120-psf. The portal frames are working nicely though. Wondering if any forums have explored the reasons leading to failure of Glidehomes (Michelle Kaufmann) and Katerra ? Both firms were well funded and used prefab modular in different ways to provide housing solutions and affordability.
