it's hard to find GTM leaders who are also deeply technical at their core 🛠 Modal is for developers though, so it was important that our first GTM hire be someone who could really understand the magic behind our product and communicate that in a compelling way to our customers thrilled to have Alec be that person! time to crank up the heat on our PLG 🔥
To my network, After a career-changing 4+ years at Confluent, I’ve decided to take the plunge back into startup land. Confluent is such a special place, truly one in a million - any of us who joined could feel something was different from day one. From SE to AE, from Enterprise Sales to Digital Native - I feel like I have grown and learned so much from you, my colleagues and customers. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave, but I’ve always had an eye out for ambitious ideas in our small world of data infrastructure. As for what I’m up to now, I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the team at Modal!! Modal is redefining the way serverless cloud infrastructure should work. What if software development in the cloud happened instantaneously, with quick feedback loops and no headaches about sizing, provisioning, scaling, or underutilization of CPU/GPU instances? Modal is already powering some amazing compute-intensive applications and is underpinned by pretty awesome low-level infra (custom container runtime, custom filesystem, and more). When I first tried the product months ago and had the chance to meet the team, I was blown away by the user experience, caliber of this team, and size of their ambition. If you get a chance to try Modal out, send me a note at alec@modal.com :)
