In the midst of the ongoing Gen Z protests, it's crucial to prioritize self-care and mental health. Advocacy and activism can be incredibly rewarding but also exhausting. To sustain our efforts and ensure we remain effective, we must take deliberate steps to maintain our well-being. Self-care isn't just about individual wellness; it's a vital component of sustained activism. Taking breaks, connecting with loved ones, and seeking support when needed are essential practices. They help us recharge, stay focused, and continue contributing meaningfully to the cause. Remember, your health matters as much as the cause we fight for. By taking care of ourselves, we not only protect our mental and physical health but also strengthen our ability to support the movement in the long run. Let's continue to advocate for change while ensuring we remain strong, resilient, and healthy. #SelfCare #MentalHealth #GenZProtests #SustainableActivism Amisa Rashid Nivishe Foundation Margaret Aduol - Otieno stella WARUINGI NairoBits Trust Leah Wanjiru Muiruri Mitchelle Atieno Muthoni Stevens Grassroot Soccer Kinya Gitonga Janet Kanyiha Benji Mutuku

🌟Tickets to our AANHPI Summit 2024 our selling quickly, so get yours today at https://lnkd.in/gAimF-2h 🌟 Join us on June 6th at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center as we bring together nonprofits, corporations, media, government, and philanthropy for “real talk” about the #MentalHealth challenges faced by the #AANHPI community, community-driven solutions, and opportunities for collective action. #DidYouKnow AANHPI adults are the racial group least likely to seek mental health services—3 times less likely than their white counterparts? Because of stigma, cultural barriers, and lack of access to culturally appropriate services, mental health and well-being look and feel different in our communities. Still, AANHPIs are often excluded from studies, narratives, and decision-making tables, and this Summit is an intervention grounded in the belief that our communities have the answers to our most daunting problems, including mental health and well-being.
