AI Act: A Mixed Bag of Opportunities and Challenges With all the positive posts about the recent AI act I'd like to share a bit more critical view from heise.de. English summary: Falk Steiner critiques the lack of clarity in the AI Act, emphasizing that it permits more than it prohibits, potentially opening the door to activities previously banned. While the Act aims to set the stage for AI deployment, it raises concerns about civil liberties and introduces uncertainties, particularly in criminal surveillance situations. Unanswered questions persist, including liability issues and the guarantee of appropriate AI use. Professional users are urged to approach AI deployment cautiously, as the AI Act, despite creating prerequisites, falls short of addressing the complexities of compliance and ethical considerations in the evolving AI landscape. https://lnkd.in/e4cAmSSn

The goal is to establish “AI made in Germany” as an international trademark for cutting-edge, secure AI applications aimed at serving the common good in line with Europe’s core values.
