🌍✨ Last week, while wandering the streets of Paris, I stumbled upon a stunning outdoor installation called Avalanche by the brilliant Tadashi Kawamata. In collaboration with Phileo Paris and Adidas, this incredible work transforms the iconic courtyard of 35-37 rue des Francs Bourgeois. Hundreds of wooden chairs cascade from a window like a wave, creating an illusion of motion and chaos as they collide with the space below. What struck me the most was how this installation embodies the power of collaboration. It’s a perfect example of how art, fashion, and architecture can merge to create something far greater than the sum of its parts. LVMH-owned German luggage brand RIMOWA is empowering a new generation of designers. The third edition of the Rimowa Design Prize, which celebrates Germany’s rich design heritage while nurturing emerging talent, runs through May 2025. The competition invites students from more than 30 partner universities to submit proposals with creative and forward-facing visions of mobility; a grand prize winner and several finalists will be celebrated this spring in Berlin. # 454 INTERIORS, Switzerland Dynamic headquarter. A few years ago, this project was very well received, and I wanted to revisit it after recently reading an article about it. I find it still highly relevant today, despite the passage of time and the incredible growth of the company. Founded in 2010 as an innovative start-up, On has grown to become a global leader in the running shoe market. Located in the vibrant Zurich West district, the company's new headquarters, designed by local architects EM2N, accommodates around 1,000 employees in a 17-story building. The interior design by Spillmann Echsle, in collaboration with Specific Generic from Stockholm, complements the building’s architectural logic and creates a spatial connection between the two distinct product development worlds housed within. At the base of the structure, spanning four floors, is the "laboratory," while the upper "quarters" house the marketing, logistics, and sales operations. The ground floor features a reception area with an integrated bar and store. One floor above, a spacious two-story meeting and co-working area is open to external visitors, establishing a connection with the surrounding city. 🙌 What’s your take? The past year has been a 'different furniture year', says Henrik Karlsson CEO at Hans K, reflecting on 2024.
