The annual growth rate of India’s air passenger traffic is projected to be 8%, resulting in the addition of over 2,500 planes in the next two decades. Good Bye 'The Queen Of Skies' Air India bids farewell to its legendary Boeing 747 aircraft, known as the 'Queen of the Skies,' as it departs from Mumbai on its final flight to the US. The iconic plane, which served the airline for almost five decades, operated various important flights, including medical evacuations and VVIP flights. The 'wing wave' maneuver, a dip of the aircraft from one side to the other, marked the end of an era for Air India. #Airbus June 2024 Orders and Deliveries Update In June 2024, Airbus registered a total of 73 new aircraft orders. The breakdown of these orders is as follows: - 36 A321neo and one A350 for unidentified customers - 30 A350s for IndiGo - Four A330ceo for Airbus Defence and Space - Two A321neo for Uzbekistan Airways Notably, there were no cancellations this month. #Aircraft Deliveries Airbus delivered a total of 67 aircraft to 40 customers in June 2024, compared to 72 aircraft delivered in June 2023. The deliveries included: - Seven A220s - 53 #A320 Family aircraft - Three A330neo - Four #A350s This brings the total number of aircraft delivered in 2024 to 323, up from 316 aircraft delivered by the same time in 2023, marking a 2% year-on-year increase.

India-based Akasa Air announced Wednesday at the Wings India 2024 air show that it has ordered 150 more 737 MAXs – a combination of 737-10s and 737-8-200s – to expand its domestic and regional international network in the coming years. Since launching operations in 2022, the all-737 operator has captured approximately 4% of India’s domestic market, serving 18 destinations with a fleet of 22 737 MAX jets. Both 737 MAX variants will provide Akasa Air with added capacity and range on new and existing routes, while reducing fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% compared to older-generation airplanes, according to Boeing. #boeing #boeing737

airBaltic confirms an incremental order for an additional 10 A220-300s. This new and fourth reorder will take the airline’s total firm order to 90 A220 aircraft. Already operating a strong fleet of close to 50 A220-300s, airBaltic is currently the largest A220 customer in Europe and the largest A220-300 operator in the world. Latvian flag carrier has a long standing history operating the Airbus A220-300, having been the launch customer in 2016. Since 2020, the airline has operated an A220-exclusive fleet.
