New publication on user insights and continuation data from the USAID EECO project's pilot of Caya diaphragm services in Benin! Almost half (45%) of Caya users in Benin said they use the method only on fertile days, with some clients using Standard Days Method (e.g., CycleBeads) and others using traditional methods like calendars to track their cycles. These results shed new light on the preferences and needs of clients choosing on-demand, self-care, non-hormonal contraception when presented with a range of voluntary FP options. English translation of the abstract: "The one-size-fits-all Caya diaphragm is an effective contraceptive method in multiple settings. However, research on its acceptability, use, and continuation in Francophone West Africa remains limited. This pilot project introduced Caya in Cotonou and Bohicon, Benin to better understand how Caya is used. 225 adopters participated in a survey six months after choosing the method. 30 adopters, 15 community men, and 15 providers participated in in-depth interviews. The study found that adopters chose the method because it was non-hormonal and did not cause side effects. Six months after adopting Caya, 76.4% of adopters continued to use it; those with less education and with 1 or more children were more likely to continue using Caya. This indicates that in this context, Caya is an acceptable method that would add value to other contraceptive methods." France is one of the few countries that has not improved its stillbirth rate since 2000. 😱 🚑 🚒 🏥 Loïc Brotons gives us a puzzling overview of what Perinatal Health in France looks like. (Overview taken from a recent report from the Court of Auditors). 💔 France shows poor results in perinatal health. 💔 The lack of a centralized data collection system hampers progress. 💔 A multi-year plan is necessary to address these critical issues. The stillbirth rate** in France has been one of the highest in Europe for 20 years. ❗️❗️❗️ 3.8% for the period from 2015 to 2020.❗️❗️❗️ It has seen no improvement since 2000... 🙌🏻 A solution exists for #datacollection, treatment and structuration. It has already been deployed in about 10 maternity units and is called Galeon. 🙌🏻 So, what do we wait? Do we extend this solution to all maternities to see some improvements? **Stillbirth rate is the ratio of children born lifeless to total births.

Et qui ecoutera les coupables de coercition d’enprisonnements illégaux en hôpitaux psychiatriques essayant de se disculper parce qu’ils ne seraient pas les seuls coupables d’actes et refus d’actions ayant entraîné la mort d’un être humain suite aussi à son séjour (temporaire souvent) en chambre d’isolement en hôpital psychiatrique? (désormais, pas moi dit la petite poule rousse, ou la boulette sentimentalement sensible sentinelle …!) sans oublier les actes de soins (tels que les électrochocs mentaux rebaptisés SISMO) administrés tandis que des victimes purent nous témoigner la raison de leur sortie sur un brancard vers 21h30 la nuit ou bien avant 07h00 le matin et donc après le depart d’un médecin ou avant le retour de celui qui est affecté à la zone psychiatrique d’un hôpital, sachant que l’interne de garde d’un hôpital qui comprend au minimum 4 bâtiments ou étages différents réservés à la psychiatrie ne pourra pas reagir suffisamment efficacement n’ayant pas terminé ses études ou obtenu le bon diplôme pour légalement pouvoir exercer en urgence quand il est de garde suite à n’importe quel appel en cas d’accident), sans oublier que les actes de soins (y compris anti-douleurs) sont réservés aux prescriptions médicales exclues d’etre effectuer sans l’intervention possible rapide d’un médecin pour eviter par exemple un oedème de quink ou une réaction inattendue rapide & mortelle d’un organe du corps humain auquel la prescription de soin en Théorie vient d’être réalisée idéalement légalement, et par ailleurs apres vérificationS et temps nécessairement écoulé en cas de kidnapping, pourtant évidemment commis contre n’importe laquelle de ces personnes n’ayant mis en danger qu’elle-même puisque réclamant sa sortie au magistrat de garde sinon à une autre agissant en tant que juge des libertés et de la détention selon la charte du patient hospitalisé qui aurait dû être respectée puisque toujours en vigueur parmi les textes de loi français

These children, aged 4 to 6, grow up in extremely precarious conditions, and many suffer from vision problems that affect their ability to learn, play and thrive. The IBSAR project, led by HuSoMe in partnership with Mari Research & Development, aims to offer eye exams and glasses adapted to these children. Thanks to innovative technology, our team can produce glasses in less than 30 minutes, at a cost of only €4 per child. 👓 Why is this project so crucial? Uncorrected vision problems deprive these children of the chance to live life to the fullest. With our fast and efficient method, each child receives a pair of glasses in record time, giving them the opportunity to learn, play and dream again. For Mental Health Day, what should you know about Clubhouse? Clubhouse International is the only global mental health nonprofit that expands and enhances recovery opportunities for people living with mental illness by integrating our proven recovery model into community-based systems of care worldwide. Clubhouse International coordinates and connects a global network of Clubhouses that are based on the Clubhouse Model of psychosocial rehabilitation which is recognized by the World Health Organization as an example of a rights-based approach to recovery. Today, there are nearly 370 Clubhouses operating in 33 countries that work to end social and economic isolation for people living with mental illness. Clubhouses offer resources and opportunities for recovery through friendship, employment, education, wellness, and social programming. There is no health without mental health. With the World Health Organization recently declaring the ongoing mpox outbreak a public health emergency of international concern, urgent action is needed to prevent a pandemic. In this article, published in #BMJ, we present actionable mechanisms to address mpox in #Congo, the epicenter of the global mpox emergency.
