On December 10th, Mohegan Sun team members came together to spread holiday cheer, donating over 700 toys to children in the local Norwich, CT community. These generous donations supported the Tommy Toy Fund, a program run in partnership with United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. We’re incredibly proud of our team for making the season brighter for so many families. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this meaningful effort!

The issue of low-quality in-kind donations is a well-known problem in both charity work and disaster response operations. Arizona State University’s Mahyar Eftekhar, an associate professor of supply chain management at the W. P. Carey School of Business, and two associates conducted a field experiment in the Phoenix chapter of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, to help improve in-kind donations this holiday season and beyond. https://lnkd.in/g-zx3wCj

Heart on Main Street is raising money to help retailers impacted by recent storms throughout the US. In the last two weeks, deadly tornados have affected entire communities and destroyed locally-owned businesses in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Texas. This year alone, already hundreds of locally-owned independent retail stores have become victims of natural disasters. These unexpected disasters have affected retailers in every part of the country. While businesses are insured, there is often a gap between the cost of recovery and what they are paid out. This leaves retailers on the hook for thousands of dollars if they want to re-open their store and remain a part of the community. Independent retailers are huge drivers of the local economy and helping these retailers recover brings hope back to these affected communities. They bring a sense of normalcy to areas that have lost so much. We would love to help as many retailers and communities as possible, so, if you are able, please consider making a donation to Heart on Main Street, and help these communities recover. https://lnkd.in/gtdW9Tef
Did you know? Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of those impacted by the tornadoes. Here at Heart on Main Street, we believe in the power of community. Join us in supporting the recovery efforts in Oklahoma and Nebraska. Together, we can show the strength and compassion of our retail community. Donate now: https://lnkd.in/g7-tixGe

Really happy to see this post. This fantastic enterprise is one of four cases informing a forthcoming article in California Management Review , where jointly with Felipe Massa, Sara Beckman, Maria Cristina Sousa, and Özge Kutun we explore alternative forms of organizing to chip away at today's deepest challenges. And there is also a teaching case study on Embassy village that is a useful pedagogical tool to get students to think about the elusive links between organizational design and institutional change -https://lnkd.in/euvrrFMu. Thanks to James Whittaker and Tim Heatley for giving us access to the team. Keep the good work!
It’s happening, construction has actually commenced What started with bus converted into a mobile homeless shelter, has now evolved into an entire village! 40 homes under 22 railway arches : Embassy Village MCR sooo many incredible volunteers, charities, faith / community groups and businesses to thank, shout out to Peel Waters for the use of their land and The Moulding Foundation for their £3.5m donation 😍 https://lnkd.in/eXU-Va7F

Social capital isn’t just about mentors and industry professionals—it’s also about peer-to-peer connections. When young people participate in programs together, they’re building bonds that can shape their futures. These relationships often evolve into lifelong networks—support systems that grow with them into college, careers, and beyond. Young people are craving these spaces now more than ever, especially as young people increasingly report feelings of isolation despite being "connected" through technology. Right now, Clubs are filled with future lawyers, doctors, activists, and game-changers. Just like Scott Tollett, now President & COO of Victra - Verizon Authorized Retailer, their journeys start here. Let’s keep creating spaces where young people can connect, inspire each other, and build their own social capital. #SocialCapital #YouthDevelopment #YourWorkforceBestie"
We’re proud to share that Victra - Verizon Authorized Retailer, the largest Verizon Authorized Retailer, has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America as the official partner of their 2024-2025 Annual Charitable Giving Campaign! Together, we’re working to empower millions of young people across the country to reach their full potential. Every day our Clubs are making a difference in young people's lives. Hear how Victra's President & COO Scott Tollett's time as a Club kid shaped his life and inspired him to give back. Now, Victra guests can visit local stores or donate online, with all proceeds directly supporting Boys & Girls Clubs mission to provide safe spaces, mentorship, and opportunities that foster academic success and personal growth. https://lnkd.in/eRCCppEX

Congrats 1up Counseling Services on your inaugural year!
2024 Wrap-up! In our inaugural year, 1up Counseling Services proudly delivered 188 counseling sessions to nearly 20 clients, with 85% of those sessions occurring in the last six months – we are growing! As a start-up, our financial gains were modest, but we remained committed to our mission. We donated over 10% of our earnings to charitable organizations that support individuals with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) and families in need. A heartfelt thank you to all our friends, family members, and everyone we collaborated with this year. We are excited to see what 2025 has in store for us!
