If you're a LegalTech provider with your own collaborative editing experience, keep an eye on the following when evaluating redlining solutions:
High-quality calculated diffs offer your users a significant simplification over traditional change tracking. There is no need to monitor the "Track Changes" toggle status or adhere to redlining etiquette. Every document will always have a redline available against every other version. No change is ever lost. To achieve these benefits:
1. Ensure your document remains editable while redlining
You will need a solution that allows embedding redlines directly within your collaborative editor, to enable seamless editing while redlining is active.
2. Confirm that redlined changes are attributed to authors
When both parties update documents, it's crucial that changes are attributed to their respective authors. This makes it easy to distinguish between different contributors' changes.
3. Check other requirements you may have, such as:
- Adding changes by multiple authors, even if they conflict
- Supporting custom grid layouts, custom content widgets, etc.
