Strongly resonate with the post below, rightly said by Olga Jeczmyk. Truly, the “Young Seniors” of today’s world exemplify transformation and adaptability. They are the generation that has witnessed extreme changes in technology—from cassettes to CDs, mobile phones to mobile applications, or from documents to computers, laptops, and now mobile phones. They continue to experience these constant changes with ongoing technological innovations. They have always been eager to learn, adapt, and understand anything new. While they had numerous resources available, they found meaning in them and learned how to navigate through these changes. For them, continuous learning and development are crucial in any environment. With such rich experiences, young seniors should be more involved in decision-making, sharing their knowledge and experience, innovative ideas, and professional guidance. Do go through the post below, share and let us know your thoughts. Let's ensure that the voices of young people are heard and valued in shaping the future. #YouthEmpowerment #YouthVoice #Leadership #Inclusion #Innovation #Adaptability
💡 Let’s talk about young people, or as I like to call them, “young senior” people. Here in Luxembourg, there are countless conferences, #workshops, and #webinars where panelists 🗣 openly discuss youth. But what does it mean to be young? Until what age are we considered young, and when should we be taken more seriously? 🤔 According to the World Health Organization, 'Adolescents' are individuals aged 10-19, 'Youth' are 15-24, and 'Young People' covers ages 10-24. So, by their standards, we become adults at 25. However, Luxembourg shares the same definition. So, let’s assume that here in #Luxembourg we are young until 24 years old, and from the 25th year, we are adults 🌍📊. Erik Erikson, an American psychoanalyst known for his theory on 🔎 psychosocial development, states, “Young/prime adulthood, from 18 to 39 years, is the healthiest time of life.” ✅ With this in mind, it’s crucial to reconsider our approach towards young people. Here are three important questions 👉🏼 1️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺? 🤔 💭 2️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀, 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 (𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆/𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀)? 📚 3️⃣ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀? 🎤👥 Young people have adapted to 💼 business life using ⛏ professional tools and diverse 📝 academic programs tailored to the market. They seek answers through self-learning platforms, unlike older generations who might have relied more on traditional methods. Let’s be honest, how many of your parents looked at a tutorial on YouTube to learn something instead of calling you for a solution? 📱💡 So, as a young adult myself, why aren’t we included in these various events here in Luxembourg? 💭Why are panelists discussing me without even asking for my input, especially when their average age is over 48-50? Please, think about it. 🤷♂️ #YouthEmpowerment #YouthVoice #Leadership #Inclusion #ErikErikson #WHO

Today is the beginning of Low Vision Awareness Month. It's important that we take the time to educate ourselves and learn about people's experiences with low vision. We aim to foster understanding and support for those with low vision, encourage early detection and intervention, and advocate for inclusive practices that enhance accessibility for everyone. So, this February, help us spread awareness for the millions with low vision and educate others about the impact of accessibility and inclusion! #LowVisionAwareness #AwarenessMonth #Accessibility #Educate

I have a t-shirt that proclaims the phrase "The future is accessible", it's a hit at conferences and meet-ups. I think because we so often feel isolated, demoralised, and like there is too much to do to make the world accessible - physically, digitally, culturally. As an accessibility professional, this phrase is something I chant to myself and my clients as we make bit by bit improvements to websites, social media, and brands. As a disabled advocate, this phrase is something I hold close to my heart when times get tough and it feels like barriers from all sides. As both, I want this phrase to uplift champions, allies, and community. That every little bit of change does make the future more accessible. That blog post, that alt-text, those captions, that focus indicator you fixed, that poem you wrote, that infographic you made - it all makes a difference. For me, this is why community (whatever shape that takes) is so important to accessibility. Community is a place where hope for the future can grow. My action for you is to find some way to connect with a community that brings you hope for the future - it might be something big like committing to attending a meetup or it could be taking the time to follow some folks online or messaging a peer who you know will just "get it". Each step we take works to ensure - the future is accessible. ---- ID: The future is accessible. An illustration of a spread of tarot cards beneath.
