As everyone is in their January planning mode, and looking ahead to what to include within their personal or business goals for 2025, I wanted to highlight an often over-looked opportunity for businesses and individuals. Another big thank you on the anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference, which opened in Banff one year ago. CSC2023 was a major leadership development initiative, taking place over two weeks, engaging nearly 300 members from more than 30 countries. More than 200 alumni volunteers from Canada and around the Commonwealth “gave back” to ensure the new members could their development experience.    The core planning for CSC2023 was undertaken by Canadian alumni of the CSC and Governor General’s leadership conferences, and was initiated by the CSC Canada Committee - starting before COVID. From establishing the theme, to setting guidelines for study tours, to developing pre-conference webcasts and video testimonials, their engagement was absolutely essential.   The impact speaks for itself, with a recent Conference survey showing 99% of the delegates describe CSC2023 as a valuable experience (75% saying extremely valuable), 94% describing the Conference as more valuable than other conferences and programs they have attended, and 88% saying the experience made them a better leader.    As Lead Director responsible for the global program, another huge THANK YOU from all CSC2023 participants to the CSC Canada Committee members, many of whom also gave their time as regional chairs: Marie Buchan, Catherine Dallaire, Stephen Dorsey, Marc-André Franche, Michael Hale, Lisa Browne, Beth Valiaho, Jason Heistad, Adam Janikowski, Sandra Laronde, Kirby Brown, Amrit Mehta, Kuthula Matshazi, Sarah Midanik, Charles Bierbrier, Pierre Verreault, Yanouk Poirier, Angela Talic, Steven Piepgrass, Ed McHugh, Aileen O’Rafferty, Sybil Wa, Matt Wayland, Bruce Willmer, Wanda Charles, Catherine Pennington, Dan Boulet.   #csc2023 #leadershipcanada #commonwealthleadersglobal #CSCglobalalumni

🏆 It’s Not About the Award, It’s About the Impact 🏆 When I was 19, My Grandpa Joe received the Thomas Jefferson Servant Leadership Award—a symbol of outstanding public service. Holding it in my hands, I remember being in awe and asking my grandfather, “Grandpa, how can I win an award like this?” We’ve all had those moments, haven’t we?
